Now I can't find the second series. Think I need to go do something totally different!! Anyway, took these a couple weeks ago and worked them this week (my psycho-therapy!) Reminds me of images you do, RR,as well as Bill and Simon.

Very well done! I can imagine how nicely they would look super enlarged, framed, and hanging on a wall !

Hi all, plse add any comments on yr experience in it's use including pics if you want to.
Some good news for me is I get my new Sigma 105 Macro lens today. Good price too, UK, Swindon & I managed to get a UV filter thrown in aswell for £319.00.
Some scoff at putting any filter on a lense sorry to those but I know from having dropped my camera on the lense that in my case the filter protected the lense itself.
No more using extension tubes for me. ☺

The lens is ideal ! Love mine !

I still think of high ISO speeds as they were used in film days. 100 for sunny days, 400 for sports or night photography. With the new dSLRs having ISO ranges into the stratosphere, I was wondering if any members have suggestions on what ISO speeds should be used when shooting. Do the high ISO speeds still cause grainy pictures?
Thanks
AP

ISO ratings today are no different than ASA ratings of yesteryear whereas the higher the ISO reading, the further away you move from the ideal variables that can be obtained by shutter speeds and apertures that you are comfortable with such as those you are comfortable with when you are shooting somewhere around ISO 100.

Two weeks ago, I was on a photo shoot. I was just setting up when "it" happened. I dropped my camera. When I heard the sound of glass breaking, I feared the worst, the lens. I got "lucky", I only lost my polarizer and uv filter. I was very happy it was not my wide angle lens. I had my lens cap on, but I guess it got knocked off the filters took the hit. I have always used a uv filter and now I am glad I use one.
Both filters will be replaced next week. I won't complain about the cost, because I could have been looking at a new lens.

Dude, look at how many times you used the word "I.". One thing is for certain and that is that we all know that it was you who had dropped a camera!

Hot weather lots of sweat and of course I dripped some on my hot shoe and did not notice. The next day noticed some rust from the salt on the hot shoe it works fine but what is the best way to remove the rust?

+++++++++++++++++++++++

Get yourself a tube of "Flitz." It is the absolute best ! Rub some onto the hot shoe and wipe off to a high polish. The Flitz also has a preservative in it that will help protect the metal from any further rust.

That's right, you don't overdo the post work on flowers as do the twin sisters, Snappyshot & Yanky Bobbydo.. By the way, you have come a long way since you had first begun posting photographs. The quality has very much improved and is looking really good !

Very nice, Photophile ! I especially enjoy your flower photos because they haven't been arranged and posed in a vase as if they just came out of a flower and gift shop ~ nor have they been heavily doctored with post processing software ! Keep up the great work !!!!

And no, I did not forget to remove the utility wires overhead.

The one thing that bothered me is that the owner of the cat did not forget it was on top of the cab and put it inside with him; and then drove off. For a second, I thought I was going to have a great photo opportunity. Oh, well.

Where in the world does one purchase a carry bag with a picture of a cat on it? The manufacturer of the bag either likes cats or, perhaps, not?

Yesterday I increased the ratio of sugar/water to 1:3 in hopes of more time at the feeder. This morning I was rewarded, perhaps a coincident or not.

Here are some results.

I have submitted some wildlife images for our community quarterly newsletter that, although appearing perfectly exposed on my computer screen, are 1-2 f stops underexposed in the newsletter (4 color printing). I send them in highest resolution JPEG. The prints in the newsletter are usually small, e.g., 2x3". Before I contact the commercial printer to help resolve this issue I would appreciate any advise from my my smart and knowledgeable friends on UHH. This is an example of what I send (Great Blue Heron close-up in full sun) - and my Mac screen brightness is in the mid position. THANK YOU!

For years, newspaper people have always asked that overexposed prints be given to them as they reproduce in their newspaper far, far better than do properly exposed prints. It's always been that way. So, the next time you send images to them, send them bright, overly exposed images and I think you will be much happier!
