My camera came loose where the strap connects sending it and my 80-200mm lens to the ground. I sent it to a Nikon authorized repair shop and they were able to replace the outer casing of the lens for $100.00. It was worth it considering the cost of a lens brand new
What I have always noticed as that nearly all the "aliens" in these sci-fi movies are very much like us, two eyes, arms of some kind, legs of some kind, generally symmetrical in the body, ears to hear and mouths to utter noises. I guess we just cannot improve on God's original design.....
What a moron. If the earth is flat, how is that we are able to circumnavigate it with ships? What keeps the oceans from falling off into empty space? Every 24 hours the earth does a complete rotation. If it were flat, at what angle would the earth need to be in relation to our sun to view a sunrise or a sunset? If the earth is flat, exactly how thick is it?
I've used Aspin Creek Photo and they have always done a great job. They will occasionally put their 20x30's on sale for $99.00.
I find it interesting when you compare Nikon to Canon. Canon's APS sensor is slightly smaller than Nikon's and since about 80% of the cost of new camera is in the sensor, Canon's are usually a little cheaper than Nikon. So when you have two the two cameras at the same megapixels two side by side, you are not comparing apples to apples and I doubt most people even know this.
The M2 was a good idea, I have them in both my laptop and my desktop. Super fast start up times! The laptop will start up in about 6 seconds, the desktop takes about 15 seconds. Love it...

I have twice bought camera lenses from a Craigslist seller.
(1) Searched regularly until I found the lens I wanted within convenient driving distance. This required a lot of patience.
(2) Contacted seller and arranged to meet seller at a Public place, e.g., Starbucks, for me to examine and test lens. I informed seller that if the lens was acceptable to me that I would make an offer.
(3) Used Adorama, B&H and KEH as a general guide for used Nikkor lens prices. Did research to learn about that lens. In one case I used a friend's lens of the same model for a few hours.
(4) Met seller and examined equipment. Put lens on my Camera body and tested function.
(5) Walked around outside Starbucks with seller, taking photos in variety of conditions, as practical.
(6) Back inside Starbucks transferred images to my Laptop and examined quality, comparing to images taken with friend's lens (that I'd previously saved to laptop.)
(7) When satisfied with the lens I made an offer. Seller and I negotiated and compromised on what I considered a fair price. I asked the seller to fill out a bill of sale and we each kept a copy.
Last year I bought a Nikkor 10-24mm DX lens (like new condition in the original Nikon box) for $450.

Yep, I just bought a 24-120mm Nikon lens last Sunday from a guy advertising on Craigslist. I met him at a Starbucks, tested the lens on my camera and the bought it. Paid $500.00, good deal, most of the time these lenses go for $650 to $750. He had upgraded to the much better 24-70mm and just wanted to sell the lens. There are some good deals out there, you just have to be patient.
You should try sites like B&H Photo, they generally give good prices for used gear, no obligation. You can go on the site and get a quote by simply inputting the gear you have. The price is just a quote, if you decide to use them, they will pay for the shipping and then review the gear, but if you cannot agree on a price, they will ship it back to you free of charge
I have also used Ebay with good success, but usually for selling only, I don't like buying gear that I cannot see and handle first
I don't have issues with sites like Craigslist, I have bought and sold using this site for many years and never had any problems. You just have to use a little common sense and caution on when and where you meet a perspective buyer. I usually meet at a local Starbucks, there's plenty of the them around...
