Was out in the field photographing waterfalls, switched lenses to my EFS-10-22 wide field lens, turned the camera on and ...ERR 20 "shooting is not possible due to an error". Turned off camera, tried again, same error. Switched back to my EFS 18-135 lens. No problem. Cleaned contacts on my EFS 10-22, tried again, same error. Switched back to 18-135, no problem.
When I got out to a spot where I had cell reception, I looked up ERR 20 and most solutions said to turn off camera, remove battery, remove lens, try again. Error apparently is some mechanical issue with the shutter that usually requires a service call. Did multiple times, didn't work. Put on 10-22 lens again. Still got ERR 20. Removed lens, happened to notice a small 1" o-ring sitting off-kilter over the camera mirror. Looked at the lens and something looked a little different. Turns out that the o-ring is part of the inner mating surface of the 10-22 lens and had come loose. Replaced the o-ring on the lens, put the lens on the camera, and no more ERR 20!
Haven't seen this listed as a possible solution to ERR 20 problems, so thought I would share it. Looked at my other EFS lenses and they don't seem to have a removable o-ring, so maybe that's unique to the wide angle item.

This was shot from right behind the pilot, f7.1, 18mm, ISO 200, 1/160, image stabilization on. Just be mindful of reflections from the window!

I've used Nations Photo Lab several times, for everything from 8x10's to a 30x40" triptych. They've performed flawlessly on every order, and with very reasonable pricing.

Manual says for the highest resolution .jpg, 7.6MB image file, can shoot 110 shots at the maximum burst rate, into a UHS-1 class card. My file was 6.95MB, and the camera ran at maximum burst rate for about 17 seconds, then momentary stops for the buffer to clear enough to receive more files. So that's about right.

I've always used SanDisk Ultra PLUS 80MB/s 32GB cards in my Canon 80D, thinking I was getting pretty decent speed. But last week, I saw the camera speed test at https://www.cameramemoryspeed.com/canon-80d/sd-card-comparison/ and decided to try it out for myself. I set up the camera per the test conditions in that web site and fired .jpg images in high speed mode. 30 seconds later, I had shot 52 images. Then I swapped out my standard card and inserted the highest performing SanDisk Card, the Extreme PRO rated 95 MB/s, and pushed the expose button. 30 seconds later, I had shot 206 images. Wow! For the labeled write speed being only 18% faster, I actually got 396% more images recorded. Exactly the same subject, no changes to camera settings or subject lighting.
Has anyone else done this experiment with their camera? Incidently, the Extreme PRO card only cost $22.95 thru Adorama, so it's a much better deal than the "standard" Ultra PLUS card, in my opinion.

I've been using a Bower battery alternating with a Canon battery in my 80D for the last six months. Haven't seen any difference between the two batteries so far.

The blooming was not visible in all the shots taken at that time, but seemed to be more prevalent when there was high color contrast. I'll attach another image to show that. The blooming is way more than a few pixels, so I don't think it is related to focus. In this example, the area having the yellow flowers all has a yellow tint to it. This is the same image area as my prior image, so I'm giving credence to lens fogging in the high humidity we had today.

Today is the first time I've seen this color "blooming" or "glow" around bright colors. These are not areas with blinkies. Today was very humid, but the lens/camera had been out in the environment for at least half
an hour. Any ideas what's going on? Look around the orange and white shirts. This image was converted from RAW but had no editing done to it.

Practicing solar shots with Thousand Oaks Optical SolarLite filter, I'm finding settings of f/8, 1/400 sec, 250 mm works well on my Canon T1a. Can see sunspots on surface of the sun with these settings.

Its Photomatrix for me. I rarely use the presets, because I'm not trying to create art. Instead, I'm just trying to make a more enjoyable photograph. The "remove ghosts" feature is especially helpful when some parts of the image are moving, like leaves in the wind or people walking.

My EF-S 10-22mm USM lens is probably my favorite for my Rebel T1i.

Here's a good source for foliage reports, based on citizen reports. You may be a little early for NC leaves this year.
