These are great photos! You've given me the urge to go to a state park in the wintertime. I've never been to Turkey Run State Park but I've been at Brown County State Park in the summertime. Thanks for giving me another destination to take my photo gear to.

Did she hide it or were you at least able to look at the box? LOL
Mark

She did let me open the box and look to see if everything was there, then it all disappeared until Christmas. But it sure was worth the wait as it's everything I hoped for and more!

If you know camera and lens prices, and see a deal like this, it is not impulse buying--it is just smart.

I agree, I've been watching the price of a Canon 6D go down all year and finally it was at the $1000.00 mark and that was on Cyber Monday. So I asked my wife if I could have it for Christmas and she agreed. I got the camera, 24-105L lens, and a Canon grip for a little over 1500.00.

When it arrived, my wife took it from me and I didn't get it back until Christmas. Oh well, it was worth the wait as I'm very happy with the whole set up.

My opinion is don't second guess yourself, just enjoy it and congratulations on your purchase.

Best to save your money...as a $100 tripod is just a waste towards your next tripod.

I hope this is the right place. I currently have creative cloud subscription (photo pack which includes LR 6 and PS although I am too chicken to explore PS yet  ) on my main laptop that has mega memory, backup drive, etc. I had in the past bought LR 5. I am going to Egypt and want to take my MS Surface 3 tablet with me to download photos from my shots at night so I can look at them on a bigger screen. Question is: can I download my stand alone version of LR5 as a copy of the Surface and then move the catalog over to my desktop when I get home? I don't think it will be a big deal to import a LR 5 catalog into my CC version of LR6 when I get home... or will it?????
I hope this is the right place. I currently have c... (show quote)

I'm just getting started with Lightroom and I too have the Creative Cloud but one of the 1st things I've learned is while on a trip is to back up my photos on a laptop or something like that, then wait until I get home for the post processing. I take a HP laptop on my trips and when I get home I transfer my photos to my desktop which has a 23 inch monitor. Good luck and have fun on your trip.

These are really great photos, job well done! You've given me some inspiration to get bundled up and get out there and take some winter photos. I haven't done that in several years and I got a new Canon 6D for Christmas so this may work out. Thanks for giving me that little push we all sometimes need.

I'd say you ran into a little gem of a piece of equipment. I can see that would be a nice addition for macro photography. Job well done and what a great photo!

I cannot imagine what you are going through at this time. You have my sympathy and regrets in this hour of loss. My condolences....
