It wasn't my quote so I included the source.

But it was the quote, not the book, that I was hoping people would grock.
It looks like UserID got it.

.I hope the moon fills in quickly so it fully covers the sun during the eclipse.

What does this mean? If you are in the path of totality the moon will fully cover the sun. If you are not in the path of totality it will not fully cover the sun. It will take however long it takes to get to full totality, 45 - 60 min or so.

You can check here to see if you are in the path of totality.

I use them all the time. Very good prices, very nice results. Can't beat there prices.
I frame 4X6 prints and 5X7 prints, my clients are very happy with the results.
I have not noticed fading, but most of my prints are less than 5 years old.
So, maybe after 20 years, who knows, I will not be around, that's for sure.
Good luck and keep on shooting until the end.
Thank you for sharing your experience.

Do you mean Walmart? Yes.
Darn it too late to change the title.

Are you nuts? What a stupid remark.
No I a not nuts, but you are rude. Both in your original reply and in this one. Don't bother replying, I will not continuing a conversation with someone who demonstrates such immature childish behavior. I am blocking you.

Most of us seldom deal with images where the white balance is critical. <snip>
You can certainly say that for yourself but you should not try to extrapolate that to everyone else.

Sorry, but I don’t see anything in these very ordinary photos which would tempt me or justify a $6,000 price. No disrespect intended to you personally.
Sour grapes here?

47, I'm guessing there must 10's if not (maybe) 100' of On1 photo raw users here. Am I the only user that has run across this problem? Hard to believe.
If you dont get answers here you might want to consider reposting the question in the UHH Post Processing Category.

I try to compose in the camera, if not, I can do that easily in post.
I have the rule of thirds lines on my viewfinder, so I will notice those while shooting.
But as a wildlife photographer, I try to center my subjects, especially if they are moving.
I find centering my subjects sometimes work best.
composition is a personal thing.
but when using post I am sometimes watchful of the rules.
Sometimes you gotta break the "rules". Let the results speak for themselves. That is a nice pic. Serious Attitude. I like it. :)

So looking straight down the length of it, similar to a shot of a road straight down the middle from the middle of the road. Plus greater DOF. I can try it next time it rains.
Or get the hose out. LOL.

If you look at the original post (https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-803711-1.html#14545850 ) and the responses to that post you'll see there was no misunderstanding. I don't think terminology was an issue.
In whose world. It was a complete misunderstanding. It wasn't until he clarified it that he got the answer to the question he was asking.

In the past few years I have been disappointed nay disgusted with most makes of printers, where their only quality is in wasting the inks that they sell you at hugely inflated prices. Exception - I use a Canon Pixma 3 in1 which serves me well. BUT I have read reports from other Hogs which would disagree - and so I did not respond to your request.
He is not asking about printers.

Immaterial in that it can easily be changed with raw, but you should at least have a good idea what light color you’re dealing with for accuracy in editing. I don’t think the designers at a fashion show wouldn’t want you just making your own decisions about how their colors should look.
Right on both points!

Moments come in and out of our lives like fireflies glowing for the briefest of time on a dark night before disappearing into the black.

Talk to the lighting director and learn the native white light color temperature. White balance for that. Let the filtered color fall where it may. That will more accurately capture the color the lighting designer wants the audience to see.
