This is interesting. In late 2021 I purchased a new Dell laptop and like yours Mcafee was installed. Like you I did not want Mcafee to be my antivirus/trojan/malware go to so I didn't activate it. However, I was able to uninstall it without any difficulty although I did use a non-operating system uninstall program instead of the Windows version. Makes me wonder if Dell changed something to keep people from uninstalling Mcafee.

I uninstalled McAfee from my new Dell without any problem, but I kept getting pop-ups to download it anew from Dell, and that went on for weeks...

Thanks for posting. I've lived in NYC most of my life and found it to be a great city offering great opportunities. I've always tried to tell people from outside that it's safe here but many are to afraid to take a chance. This article does a great job. Thanks for the post.

I love NYC. In the 70s it was a rough town, but does not seem so today.

I don't generally initiate posts in this section, but I ran across this article explaining different cultural norms in different regions of the US based on early immigration patterns from different regions of Europe, which not only explain differing attitude toward guns, but in almost all other areas of our national attitudes and lifestyles. Not trying to start any arguments, but to understand what lies at the root of our great differences.

This would be a better world if we didn't have the likes of Fox News MSNBC and CNN. All of them are propaganda and lies. But I guess propaganda sells and is profitable so they will never change. Bring back the Walter cronkites.

At least when all the news was supplied by major media outlets there was a unified national discourse, but on the other hand we heard only what the powers-that-be wanted us to hear. I applaud the fact that other voices have a platform, but now special interests on all sides have flooded the public discourse with so much distorted information to promote their own agendas that it is nearly impossible to see anything clearly.. I honestly do not have much hope for humanity.

As does CNN and MSNBC.

Indeed. All the media outlets have their agendas, though I'd say that Fox is more fact-free that the others, who only twist the t***h instead of denying it so wholesale. But I'd qualify that by saying that at least Fox doesn't buy the American imperialist and social control lines lock, stock and barrel, like the others do.

The only way for George Will to be appear relevant today is for him to pen tripe like this. Some people just don't know how or when to retire. As people stop listening to a political writer their nature is to get more sensational and inflammatory. The left rewards anyone making Fox look bad.

Fox does that without any help

Between DeSantis and Trump, I would take Trump, Trump is an opportunist, without any integrity. DeSantis actually believes what comes out of his mouth. He is far more dangerous.

John, perhaps we'd find it interesting if you'd share your ideas on how to solve this problem.

Whoever shares their ideas, even such moderate things as stricter background checks, waiting periods, closing loopholes, and gun license regulations similar to those for automotive licenses, usually get shouted down with second amendment arguments. I have lived the better part of my life in societies in which gun ownership is severely regulated, and I can only say that Americans don't realizes just how severely the abundance and availability of guns in the US degrades their quality of life.

One day it just stopped working i.e. When i tried to open a file after making edits, the working area of the screen turns solid white and starts flashing. I can't get any help from Adobe and user groups can't explain it.

What help have you tried to get from Adobe? Tech chat has resolved my most difficult problems sometimes by remotely controlling my computer.
