When I go to sky replacement I get the error
could not complete request, program error.

Did anyone else get that error with this latest update?
if so how did you resolve it. Have any ideas
.

I have the latest PS update installed and just tried the sky replacement, worked without problems.

I am running on an iMac 27 late 2015, what platform are you running on.

Really is a pain when stuff like this happens, hope it gets solved for you without too much issue.

What do you you think of this camera and lens combo? Is the lens good for all around wide and closeup shooting?

Thank You.

My son just got one a couple of weeks ago, takes great pictures, the autofocus is outstanding. He is very happy with it. He also bought the adaptor with the control ring to use his or mine Ed mount lenses. I think it is a very good camera combo. Excellent in low light too.

you don't need an attorney, you need to advise your credit card company of the fraudulent charges and tell them it wasn't you and you are not paying them. If the rep on the phone doesn't help just ask for a supervisor and tell them the same thing. The transactions are card not present transactions and the merchant is fully responsible for them, the credit card company will charge them back to the merchant (if it is a fraud merchant the credit card company has to eat the charges).

Hey Trix, I hope your fibre installation gets to your house asap. I had Rogers Gibabit internet on coax and then Bell Canada installed fibre to the house in our subdivision over the winter.

I just had them install their Bell Fibe 1.5Gb service into the house and cancelled the Rogers.

Rogers numbers. 930Mbps down and 32.7 up

Bell Fibe numbers. 942 Mbps down and 934 up, wireless on my iPad Pro 440 Mbps down and 303 up. The ethernet on my devices is limited to 1Gbps. those speed tests were done with other devices drawing at the same time.

You just have to love fibre, I have a lot of devices and when the grandkids visit, I have way more devices, not a hiccup and the speed is fast for all.

I use Apple Extremes as waps but they are old and don't give those wireless numbers, might have to buy some new wireless access point devices and put one outside on the back deck too.

Canadian here. Same as long shadow as well. I do do the ‘eh’ thing I must confess compared to the Western New York ‘uh-huh’ thing.

While driving near Rochester one time a local car with a few teenagers in it pulled up and started yelling ‘eh’ to us. It was hilarious. I miss visiting you Americans. Hopefully our borders will be open again soon

Check to see if the safari app on the iPad is in reader view. It’s the icon at the top left that looks like a book. When you tap it, it shows the toggles below it. You want it highlighted on the book icon.

Thanks for giving a helpful reply to the OP’s question

Of course Apple doesn't want anyone to mess with their batteries, so they use this uncommon screw with a head that resembles a Tri-Wing® screw, and I don't have a driver to remove it.

So it stays outside until I can figure out what to do with it. Scary stuff.

If I never bring another Apple product into my house it will be too soon - these things are dangerous!!

[Edit] the last pic was just taken, about 1 hour after the self-destruct sequence activated itself.

Yep not a lot different than a lithium battery in any device which has become defective for whatever reason.

Depending on what model, replacement battery is available on Amazon for $50 to $80 and most come with the screwdriver tritip you need.

Come on Gene, you’re a pretty handy guy, you can do this rather than just taking a swipe at Apple.

Since they put the "widget" in the cans, years ago, the canned product is actually pretty good, but I agree that it is better from the tap.

I have had a few of the so called executive chairs and none were comfortable or adjust enough to make them comfortable for me.

I just bought the OBUS Comfort chair the high back model with the adjustable lumbar model 1260-3, a few minutes of fiddling and it gives you the support you want. the seat adjusts front and back, up and down, the seat back adjusts up and down, the tilt adjusts, comes with instructions for the various adjustments. I spend at least three days a week in the chair for 7 hours of work and this one is working for me. it is not a plush supersoft comfort but a firm padding in the right place comfort.

Big bonus made in Canada rather than another China product. From an office furniture dealer it was $500, I see on the link it lists at $1,000+.

The most comfortable chair is probably the Stressless Office chair but I can't afford one of them.

I'm not sure I can trust the system; it's 5 years old and running on Big Sur platform.

I need some guidance. Does the Geek Squad have the expertise to take the Mac as is and give it an overhaul to get me back to normal? or, if I have to replace it, would a transition over to a new Windows device make more sense?[/quote]

I have two late 2015 iMacs, one of which suffered a hard drive failure that may be like your system suffered. The one that failed had a 2TB fusion drive which has been a nightmare since new and Apple fixed it twice in the warranty period (AppleCare extended). But alas last summer it died again. I wanted it converted to an SSD system instead of the fusion drive, Apple would not do it.

I went to a local shop that advertised they will do the switch. I had a 1 TB ssd put in and asked them to put the Catalina OS on it. I have all my files on a NAS so did not need a recovery done from the hard drive as it was just programs and junk files. Dropped it off on a Friday and picked it up following Monday. Cost $600 Canadian which is what about $450 US today.

I am writing this note on that computer now, it works as it should have when new. I have not upgraded to Big Sur as yet. I will wait until all the software companies have their products upgraded to use Big Sur.

As to switching to a Windows computer, only you can decide that, they work and they break as well. I have a Windows 10 unit that I use for quickbooks because quickbooks won't do a Canadian Tax version for the Mac. It works but again would cost more than $600 to have the computer and a monitor. Probably around $1500 for an basic one with a very good monitor and a video card that will drive that monitor.

The iMac will last for a few more years if you have it fixed. We have a 2007 iMac 24 inch that is still going strong just can't run the latest OS. It is still used for surfing the net and running some old genealogy programs.

If yours has a fusion drive I suspect that was the problem. And btw while I am a big Apple fan and have heard all the claims of Apple using better components in their units, the hard drive portion of the fusion drive was a Seagate Barracuda one of the worst drives out there. I use Seagate Iron Wolf drives in my NAS and they have been very reliable.

A new iMac is $3000 so the repair at $600 was very reasonable and the computer runs perfectly.

FedEx, UPS, Purolator, Canpar and Amazon are all great in my neighbour hood. FedEx was here this morning right to the door, he was surprised when I opened and then said good morning. Canada Post is useless, slower than every other service and if it doesn’t fit in the super community mailbox you get a card that says we tried to deliver but couldn’t pick it up at the Post Office.
