The lamp is already part obscured and the whole composition has an unbalanced feel to it. Sometimes it's not possible to get everything aligned as you would like. You win some, you lose some.

My "local" Castle. Small Castles like this are spread throughout Wales, this particular Castle was the ancestral home to the Morgan Family. It was used on location for the TV series "The Adventures of Robin Hood" in 1950's, starring Richard Green. Unfortunately the Castle is now in disrepair and needs some serious renovation.

Cymru?

I took this shot of my granddaughter as she peered through a narrow door window to see what I was doing outside....

When I noticed her I took a quick shot with my 100mm macro lens....then I grayscaled it....

She has some of the most gorgeous eyes...

Very, very nice! Kudos!!

Hello Jim, a pace to your right would have centred the gap in the slabs between the posts, it would make a much stronger picture.

I think you're right, Graham, but I wonder if that would make the lantern look like it's sitting on--or even tucked behind--the left hand post? I also wonder if the railing and structure on the left would then intrude on the setting?

Regular price at B&H is $179.88. I'll let it go for $110.00 and I'll pay shipping in the US. It is practically new--I took it on one trip to Alaska and it has been sitting on a shelf since.

I like this piece of gear but it was a GAS attack purchase. I've just got too many things to carry around.

If you buy the f/1.4, you'll have a lens that is larger, heavier, more expensive, and probably not as sharp as the f/1.8. You're paying a premium for that extra stop.

Try some of these comparison sites.

I suppose if you are a camera dealer, it's important to know what's hot and what's not. But for the individual user, does it really matter which camera brand other people are buying? If I should ever switch brands, it won't be because of how many photographers in my neighborhood are using that brand! Unless I plan to trade lenses with them, I simply don't care what camera they choose to shoot with.

Spot on! That's why lots of Nikon/Canon users are still Nikon/Canon users. And the scale will tip--Nikon will develop better lenses and Canon will introduce better bodies. They will force each other to get better and we, the consumers, will win.

Shelby Cobra.. Kit car. carbon fiber body
only weights 60 pounds. It's a screamer.

I really hate to move up the 7100 is so good.
I will still use it for birds and as my back up.

Thought it was a Cobra--and figured it was a kit, not an original. Although that would be SOOOOOO sweet, right?

I agree completely. I had a Sony many years ago
that had a built in zoom. It was great, but used a floppy disc for film.

I am using a 7100 and love it.
I'm moving to a d750 soon because I will be shooting
on a more professional level. I want the extra pop
that full frame light gives.

I shoot with a D7100 as well and the alternative to a Sony set up is the D750. I'm in no real hurry, so I'll hang tight for a while.

BTW, what is the roadster in your avatar?

Surprisingly, there was life before plastic. :-)
