The volcano cowboy and his horse is an excellent image but the second photo's steam framing with the back story of where it came from is very unique and gives it some panache. Interesting shots and I mean truly interesting.

Good lighting again. Late in the day so the bird is in shadow (but not to dark of shadow), the background are trees and bushes still in sunlight. The combination worked nicely. I'm holding out Linda...waiting to see what new technology Sony comes up with during the year. But thanks for the heads up...very much appreciated.

I want to see what a Sony A7000 will have.

You have it pretty much figured out. I'll give you some distances. Bird was 15 feet away, background items were 40 feet away. Aperture was f6.3. Focus was set for central focus.

I am surprised the aperture was that small. That aperture allowed the depth of field to put the background slightly in focus. I know the focal length of the lens when the image was taken makes some difference as well.

Thanks for the information.

Thanks for posting this woman's photos again. Every time I see her images I wonder at her artistry. Makes me want to work harder at my craft.

I agree the background is just right. Interesting but not distracting. I am curious how you designed this bokeh. I know subject close, background further away but the background is just marginally in focus to create some color in the background. Please elaborate.

I posted some hummingbirds a few days ago. I thinks these are a little better, but not quite what I'm looking for. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

What else were you looking for in shot # 2? It looks good to me.

??????? Sony's sensors don't have much to do with 15years in prison for having sex on the beach. Where's the story?

Outstanding image! Did you go with 1/2500 shutter to reduce the amount of light in the exposure?

Thank you lalezo. Pearl St is fun during April with all the flowers which erupt with color then.

Nice! Pearl Street Mall is an excellent place for photographers to sharpen their craft. Rare is the day there isn't someone or even groups out shooting up the place. Tired of taking pictures? Recommend a stop at the Bohemian Biergarten (1/2 block north of Pearl on 13th St) to quench that which makes you parched.

Thanks for the tip!
