I just got a box of 200 Zeiss wipes at Sams Club, I thought the price was pretty good and they do a great job on cleaning the lens.

I agree with Lupane. Shoot with both Raw and JPeg especislly if you have enough space on the hard drive.

Flowers make great subjects and they are always willing to pose. Great pics.

You might want to consider the Olympus Tough Series of cameras. I have the 3000 and it worked great but it is only good for a depth of 10 feet, which is more than sufficient for my use. They do other versions, I believe 6000 and 8000, which will give you the depth that you want.

It was a very clear and cool night so I decieded to see how good the stars would come out. I believe in the first one the two bright stars are Jupiter and Venus. Here are the settings I used.

The first - Canon T2i manual focus 18mm f/8 30 sec. iso 800 exposure bias +.3.

The second - all settings the same except f/13.

These pictures are right out of the camera, no PP.

May I suggest -

Shoot wide open

Increase the exposure time, in steps, until you get star trails from the movement of the earth - then go 'back' the next faster exposure

Raise your ISO until you get too much noise - then again, go 'back' to reduce the noise.

This should maximize the stars that you capture.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info, I'llgive that a try.

So why no PP? It's an integral part of digital photography!

I didn't see to much to fix
