thanks, Erv. I don't know. Maybe he got tired of me snapping away. :)
They are just beginning to show up here. There's a park close by and they sit in the trees and cattails.

I wish I could have gotten more sharp photos. I do the best I can leaning over and using the passenger seat as brace holding the 400 lens. And the birds move alot.
we finally got them in MI last week, puts a smile on our faces as we know spring is very near :)

Very nice pix. The red wing is one of my favorites, also.
That is a male displaying to the other early arriving males that the area right below him is "his." As soon as the females start showing up, he will show them his site and hope they build a nest. One male may mate with more than one female, but they will all be close to his area.
I love their song, the extended trill takes me back to my youth and the hot summer days my friends and I used to spend at Pymatuning Lake.
