The problem is that I uploaded all the files from the card and now I can't read the files on the computer.
When I attempted it, a second time - I tried a reformat - first in the PC, and then, in the camera - but, it wouldn't take.
I've now replaced the card with another standby, in the camera, and that one formatted fine ... it's a 16GB San Disk ...
The one that got corrupted is a 64GB Polaroid ...
I don't think there's anything wrong with the camera ...
It's the card, itself - that got corrupted ...
Just throw it away? ... or is there a stand-alone recovery program?

This may start a maelstrom, but I've quit using San Disk....had two that were corrupted beyond recovery. Having never used Polaroid, I can't comment. I now use Lexar and have had no problems. This was at the recommendation of a professional wildlife photographer.
Local car club had it's annual show this past saturday. Having never been to one, I wasn't sure of what to photograph. Cars, sure, but really enjoyed the smaller details also. Learned that I really like reflections. BTW, my first, and maybe last selfie!
We have eight-lane highways with speed limits of 65 MPH or higher, yet we find ourselves sitting in traffic jams on these modern highways. That costs billions of dollars a year. I'm convinced that authorities could do something to avoid many of these traffic jams.
Let me give you an example. A couple of months ago, I was driving to NJ on I-287. Traffic on this 65 MPH road was moving at its typical 80 MPH. Then it stopped. For forty-five minutes, we all just creeped along. Finally, we started moving again, and cars drove even faster to make up for lost time. What was the cause of this traffic jam? The powers-that-be decided to clean the left shoulder of the highway on Friday afternoon. The left shoulder was plenty wide enough to accommodate the sweeper that was doing the job, but they thought that closing one and then two of the three lanes would be a good idea. Three lanes of heavy traffic had to merge into one, so a street sweeper could drive along the very wide shoulder. Stupid! Incompetent!
Below is info about some traditionally bad traffic areas in this country.
