Faststone Photo Resizer. I believe that it is free (why else would I have it?).
I joined for a 1 year membership and quit after 5 months. "New kids on the block" were not really welcome to the established clique. New ideas, new approaches, new anything were not welcome. You weren't a real photographer unless you post processed with Photoshop.
I then considered joining another club in a town 15 minutes away. In talking to others, I found out that it was virtually the same.
So, I have ended up joining UHH and am very happy!
A few years ago, I bought a new laptop. I had problems right from the start. I phoned tech help many times. Each time, the problem would be mostly, but not totally, rectified. Finally, I asked about taking it in to have someone look at it. The nearest place that was qualified was in the city. I asked if the local dealer could look at it. I was told that they could to find the problem, but would still have to take it to the qualified repair place. Two days later, the local business told me that my hard drive was shot and were not qualified to repair it. So I took it to the city. Two days later, they called to say that Win 8.1 was the problem. I got it replaced and had no problems after that. The money spent on gas was certainly a lot less than replacing a HD that was not a problem.
My wife and I have passports simply because they are needed re other countries (we cruise).
Check out Photo Zoom Classic 5. I think that it is free?
About a month ago, I had a conversation with a professional photographer who was in charge of a number of other photographers. Their area of photography was portraits. In our conversation, he admitted that he used the 18-55 kit lens more than any other and that post processing helped when needed.
I found myself in a creative rut in that I was starting to photograph almost everything the same way (landscape with a kit lens). So, I created a challenge for myself: one day at a time, go through the alphabet and choose a topic for each respective letter. Today was the "S" day. Of the photos so far, I have layered, mirrored, manipulated, etc. For some letters, I had to go to the dictionary (gasp) to find a noun that I could photograph. It's been fun and, some days, challenging. It has forced me to get back to thinking outside the boring box and to learn and hone new, and not-so-new, skills.

Q. Why are red poppies worn on Veterans Day, and where can I obtain them?
A. The wearing of poppies in honor of America's war dead is traditionally done on Memorial Day, not Veterans Day. The practice of wearing of poppies takes its origin from the poem In Flanders Fields, written in 1915 by John McCrae. For information on how to obtain poppies for use on Memorial Day, contact a veterans service organization, such as the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW) or The American Legion, as a number of veterans organizations distribute poppies annually on Memorial Day. You can find veterans groups in the Veterans Service Organization link on VA's Veterans Day web page. Veterans groups in your area can be found in your local phone book. Look in the yellow pages under "Veterans and Military Organizations" or a similar heading.

Prior to November 11, the Canadian Legion distributes poppies for donations. Anyone outside of Canada can probably get one or more by either coming to Canada or contacting any local legion.
I have a "magic mirror". You can see through anything (in this case, me) and see what is behind (in this case, the sunset). Neat, eh?
I use Noiseware Community Edition (free).
I tried the following on the quarter moon of late:
Manual setting
Aperture f16
Shutter 1/320
ISO 1600
Tripod
Remote shutter release
300 mm lens (that's as big as I could go)
Post processing.
Try these settings and adjust as necessary.
Perhaps it is like so many "comedy" TV shows. They lack humour, so a laugh track has to be used to make it appear to be funny.
