I own both B+W and Hoya CPL. The Hoya is Pro Digital Series CPL on my 55-300mm Nikon DX. The B+W is Digital
MRC nano XS Pro Series on my 18-300mm Nikon DX. Both perform well getting rid of glare but the B+W is built so much better. It threads on and off much easier then the Hoya. Its built heavier then the Hoya and the circular ring feels better when rotating it. I also own both in UV filters and again the B+W is just made better. If I were in need of any filters in the future B+W would be my choice.

I am using the previous model Canon Pixma Pro 9000 MK II. The big difference is mine is not wireless. The photos come out really nice. With the rebates from Canon you can't go wrong with it. Have not printed the 13x19 size yet but many 8 1/2x11 borderless. Have mine over a year.

I always find that when I'm trying to take pictures of animals behind glass, my pictures have reflections, some times focus on smudges on the glass, look a little ok. I've been able to move around to get rid of the reflections, smudges etc, but doing so also takes away from the angle I wanted. I am also right up next to the glass to when taking them because my Nikon D3100, only has the 18-55mm lens. I also end up making the photos B&W to help hid some flaws in the shot. I go to the zoo a lot with the kids and take lots of pictures :)

The lens your using really limits your shots. What is needed is a zoom lens 18-200mm,55-200mm,18-300mm,
55-300mm .Any of these DX lenses would be good with your D3100.For the problem of glare a circular polarizing filter works great. Now for smudges on the glass bring along a small rag and non abrasive glass cleaner and just wipe down where you plan on shooting from. The photos below were all taken at the Bronx Zoo threw glass using a Nikon D7000 and Nikon DX 18-300mm lens with a circular polarizing filter.

Just wanted to introduce my self been looking in for a while and have learned a lot from you Hedgehogs.
Got back into photography about 7 years ago by being interested in watches and belonging to a watch forum. Saw all these beautiful watch of the day photos and got hooked on trying to photograph my own. Started out with a bridge camera a Fuji 9000.I used it for about 2 years then rejoined the Nikon camp with the D5000 again for about 2 years. Now I own and shoot with the Nikon D7000.Have had it for almost 2 years plan on updating when the imaginary D400 becomes a reality.
