A young cowboy from Regina goes off to college in Ontario . Half way through the semester, he has foolishly squandered all his money. He calls home.

"Dad," he says, "You won't believe what modern education is developing! They actually have a program here in Waterloo that will teach our dog, Ol' Blue how to talk!"

"That's amazing," his Dad says. "How do I get Ol' Blue in that program?"

"Just send him down here with $1,000" the young cowboy says. "I'll get him in the course."

So, his father sends the dog and $1,000.

About two-thirds of the way through the semester, the money again runs out. The boy calls home.

"So how's Ol' Blue doing son?" his father asks.

"Awesome, Dad, he's talking up a storm," he says, "but you just won't believe this - they've had such good results they have started to teach the animals how to read!"

"Read!?" says his father, "No kidding! How do we get Blue in that program?"

"Just send $2,500, I'll get him in the class."

The money promptly arrives. But our hero has a problem. At the end of the year, his father will find out the dog can neither talk, nor read.

So he shoots the dog.

When he arrives home at the end of the year, his father is all excited. "Where's Ol' Blue? I just can't wait to see him read something and talk!"

"Dad," the boy says, "I have some grim news. Yesterday morning, just before we left to drive home, Ol' Blue was in the living room, kicked back in the recliner, reading Shakespeare, like he usually does.

Then he turned to me and asked, "So, is your daddy still messing around with that little blonde who lives down the street?"The father exclaimed, "I hope you shot that SOB before he talks to your mother!"

"I sure did, Dad!"
"That's my boy!"

The kid went on to law school, and now serves in Ottawa as a Senator.

I am not sure how I got here :roll: My guess is one of the vendors that advertise here sent me a link to this site. I have been buying a lot of equipment lately and, as Texans are prone to do, bragged about it through customer reviews.

I run a Ranch located under the X in Texas. Aside from cattle, one of the animal income strings is hunting lease. The hunters want pictures of their harvest so I bought a camera. I haven't mastered my camera but it is beginning to respond to my commands. Once I figured out that it was doing what I asked but not what I want things have progressed past the Auto function/ fix in Photo Shop.

A close friend (a retired commercial graphics teacher) introduced me to the concept of composition. WOW This is why I am here. To learn the subjective aspects of Photography as opposed to snapshots.

Have a look at this “photo” and when you stop laughing, do read on. Like many of us you probably enjoy a bit of lighthearted, harmless humour and we tend to endear ourselves to those possessed with the wit and talent to provide it. We have, on this forum, one particularly unfortunate self-styled comedic individual who hides behind the guise of a much clichéd cartoon character. I have seen one or two acceptances of this tiresome pest but that is about it and of those I am sure that they too are grateful that he is not someone they need to have anything to do with. Granted, all western humour relies on there being a victim but when the victim is you or someone near then it is time for an honest appraisal of what we are chuckling at. Most of us enjoyed watching cartoons as children but as adults we tend both to have and to expect a more sophisticated and intelligent approach. The fellow in question is very quick to ridicule and belittle others but what of his own credibility? The truth is that of the 334 topics he has put up, 333 were not of his own doing. All 333 are nothing more than links and most have nothing at all to do with photography. So what of that single topic which does actually feature something he actually did himself? Well folks, you’ve seen it here! The attached image is it, the sum total of his talent. Yes, that annoying little creep knows nothing about photography but yet he has the gall to criticize others. So next time you see this resident pest who calls himself “wabbit” criticizing and belittling others, remember this image and have a quiet giggle at the hypocrisy of this ineffectual malcreant. Rob.
