Hi all!

My buddy Marty and I go on photo field trips around NYC almost every weekend, weather permitting, as we're both retired and try to get in our quota of walking as exercise. This last Saturday, we decided to take the first available NYC Ferry that showed up at Pier 11 near Wall Street and a few blocks below the South Street Seaport along the East River. Our options were north to the Southview area of the Bronx or East, past Coney Island to Rockaway Beach, near the border of Long Island but still in the borough of Queens. The usual $2.75 fare was increased to $4.00!

When I arrived at Pier 11, I noticed a lady looking at the posters adjacent to the boarding area to Rockaway and took the first photo. After my buddy arrived, we all lined up at the gate and proceeded onto the ferry. The ferry ride was 50 minutes long, the weather was mild in the low 70s, and the skies were clear with no humidity! We walked along the beach for a mile or two, snapping images along the way. I used a Kodak PixPro AZ252 bridge camera that has a lens that zooms from 24 to 600mm (FX equivalent) that received very good writeups and was pretty inexpensive, around $100 or so. The images were great so I bought a second one via eBay. In terms of size and features, they are copies of Fujifilm and Canon bridge cameras.

When I got home that day and looked at my images, I was surprised to notice that the lady from my first image was also the same person walking along the beach with her friend! After her arrival at Rockaway, she met her friend and also walked the mile or so to the spot where I grabbed that shot! Small world and a wonderful coincidence.

Be well! Ed

I really like the second shot. I take it that you zoomed in from a distance. This results in shrinking the apparent distances between subjects in the background. It appears that the waves are about to swallow those two ladies up

Ever try squeezing 68 candles on a cake the size of a kid's basketball?

This time I was not convinced by the polls.

Most informed Attic pundits predicted a RED WAVE. It was no doubt based on the data of most past e******ns, usually a good predictor. Let's face it, Joe's POPULARITY was in the low 40's, even many Dems were making contingency plans for after the RED TSUNAMI. The economy, immigration, etc. were considered to be the deciding factors that would contribute to Joe's demise, by conservative old men. They were wrong. This is where I insert: "I TOLD YOU SO!" Kansas showed that the sleeping giant wanted access to a******n. The key word is: ACCESS. Women v**ers flexed their muscles and showed men how one issue that affects them, daughters, friends, etc. would galvanize them into action. I'm not saying they all want a******ns, just that they want the FREEDOM to choose, (YES, to terminate a fetus) but that was inconceivable (pun intended) to those that still held onto the cliché: "It's the ECONOMY stupid."
Not only did the RW/RT not arrive spectacularly, it was downgraded to a Pink Trickle, according to some. A long pattern of midterm results was abandoned. Some might claim it was flimsy maga candidates, lunacy, lack of a real agenda or even e******n f***d. Nope.
As usual, it was a woman's common ability to see through the dumbness of MEN. lol Men in their infinite "wisdom" chose to be paternalistic and the ladies said, NO!

I can hardly wait to see what happens now in pr********n for the next e******n.

I hope we get to choose between a conservative democrat and a liberal republican; anyone except Biden or Trump. If forced to choose, I would pick Trump as the lesser or two evils

I don't even remember the 60's!

This picture is a good reminder. My favorite memories were the dawn of the miniskirt and muscle cars. That old man couldn't get it up with a forklift, but his eyesight was more or less intact

I like those boats, which marina?

Great Kills Harbor, Staten Island. That picture was taken in Manhasset Bay, Port Washington.

That's a beautiful sailboat. We had an O'Day 222 on Lake Winnipesaukee. I liked the size because it was large enough, but we could trailer it. Sailboats are great.

If you are wondering how it got it's name, my wife is named Maryanne and she wears short skirts

I would say something in response to your allegation but I am too pooped out to reply

I celebrated my 68th ten years ago - and I had a prettier cake.

There used to be a local bakery that sold a Sh*t Cake. It looked just like it sounds, but it was delicious.

It seems that they've toned it down a bit. I don't like the coloring - or the price. : )

Very "stoolish" decision on their part. Nothing like flushing business down toilet

Happy Birthday...old man! lol. I am 66, getting close to your age. ë¿ë

I wonder if you are noticing the same thing I am as I get older. More and more, I am applying the same lesson I learned on deck after more than five decades of sailing to activities taking place "below deck" When the wind won't fill my sails and they are hanging loose on the mast, I can always fire up the auxiliary engine

The problem is that the film is only too happy to recycle all the tired old conspiracies and h**e dressed up as an ethnicity conundrum.

They did leave out the Rothschild's space lasers, used to start California forest fires ... so there's that.

" ... To support its claims, the film cites statements from prominent antisemites and notorious antisemitic texts as supposed evidence of the “true” nature and identity of Jewish people. For example, the film includes passages from Henry Ford’s “The International Jew” and two purported (though seemingly fabricated) quotations from Adolf Hitler.

The film also advertises the book on which it is based, which features even more explicit antisemitism, including quotes from the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a longer passage of Holocaust denial, attacks on Z*****m, conspiratorial claims about the Rothschilds and more. ..."

Actually they missed something that might have a ring of t***h; the Jewish space lasers. Based on the crap in that film, it looks like the producers might have received a glancing blow to the head from one of those things. Looks like the same might have happened to Kanye West

Here are a few spooky self portraits! These have a lot of technical issues but I love 'em anyway. What did y'all dress as for Halloween??

I really enjoyed your self portraits and lack of inhibition. If you decide to do something like this next Halloween, may I suggest this alternate venue; a dockside eatery in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey. All you need to do is place a few pumpkins and goblins on the tables, and do a little modification on the sign above the glass door
