Hi all!
My buddy Marty and I go on photo field trips around NYC almost every weekend, weather permitting, as we're both retired and try to get in our quota of walking as exercise. This last Saturday, we decided to take the first available NYC Ferry that showed up at Pier 11 near Wall Street and a few blocks below the South Street Seaport along the East River. Our options were north to the Southview area of the Bronx or East, past Coney Island to Rockaway Beach, near the border of Long Island but still in the borough of Queens. The usual $2.75 fare was increased to $4.00!
When I arrived at Pier 11, I noticed a lady looking at the posters adjacent to the boarding area to Rockaway and took the first photo. After my buddy arrived, we all lined up at the gate and proceeded onto the ferry. The ferry ride was 50 minutes long, the weather was mild in the low 70s, and the skies were clear with no humidity! We walked along the beach for a mile or two, snapping images along the way. I used a Kodak PixPro AZ252 bridge camera that has a lens that zooms from 24 to 600mm (FX equivalent) that received very good writeups and was pretty inexpensive, around $100 or so. The images were great so I bought a second one via eBay. In terms of size and features, they are copies of Fujifilm and Canon bridge cameras.
When I got home that day and looked at my images, I was surprised to notice that the lady from my first image was also the same person walking along the beach with her friend! After her arrival at Rockaway, she met her friend and also walked the mile or so to the spot where I grabbed that shot! Small world and a wonderful coincidence.
Be well! Ed

I really like the second shot. I take it that you zoomed in from a distance. This results in shrinking the apparent distances between subjects in the background. It appears that the waves are about to swallow those two ladies up
Great shots,....thanks for sharing!
That’s a pair of very nice shot. Well done.
