Paddy staggered home very late after another evening with his drinking buddy, Paddy. He took off his shoes to avoid waking his wife, Kathleen.

He tiptoed as quietly as he could toward the stairs leading to their upstairs bedroom, but misjudged the bottom step. As he caught himself by grabbing the banister, his body swung around and he landed heavily on his rump. A whiskey bottle in each back pocket broke and made the landing especially painful.

Managing not to yell, Paddy sprung up, pulled down his pants, and looked in the hall mirror to see that his butt cheeks were cut and bleeding. He managed to quietly find a full box of Band-Aids and began putting a Band-Aid as best he could on each place he saw blood.

He then hid the now almost empty Band-Aid box and shuffled and stumbled his way to bed..

In the morning, Paddy woke up with searing pain in both his head and butt and Kathleen staring at him from across the room.

She said, 'You were drunk again last night weren't you?'

Paddy said, 'Why you say such a mean thing?'

'Well,' Kathleen said, 'it could be the open front door, it could be the broken glass at the bottom of the stairs, it could be the drops of blood trailing through the house, it could be your bloodshot eyes, but mostly, it's all those Band-Aids stuck on the hall mirror.

Well, now see, the boot was on the other foot for me--twice. I immigrated to US when my folks sent me a Green Card when I got out of Canadian Army for first time. Went to school in L.A.--got drafted so volunteered so I could go Airborne(101ST)--volunteered for you know where. I was Cdn born but my allegiance was to US at he time. Returned to Canada because living in L.A. was like living in zoo. Another Army stint in Cdn. Guards Airborne. Became a civvy for couple years. Bored stiff. 2nd Time: Went to Africa--joined a top notch unit--(won't say where cause all the libs will say I'm a racist). I'm not, was just doing something I believed in and for 5yrs I was a -----(Insert whatever Country you think) and dam proud of it. The leader quite on us and I came home to best country in world--alive again! Wherever I was my allegiance and patriotism was to the Country that allowed me in and at the time I did not constantly sound off about how great Canada was because they would have told me what I tell that type of person today--"If it's so great there why you here?"
Well, now see, the boot was on the other foot for ... (show quote)

I am of Canadian decent, my father was stationed in the UK during WW1, met my mother, and returned to Marry her when it was all over. I agree whole heartedly with your last sentance, that is why many English people were called winging Poms.
I love this place, only thing i don't like is they are bad sportsmen.

You may be right, but I wonder how you would feel if the boot was on your foot.
As long as the person goes along with your laws whats the difference, you are what you are accept it.

Jeez Nek, I would think after 40 years you would think yourself more NZ than English.

It doesn't happen that way my friend, I am English, and have lived in Australia for almost 50 yrs, and I am still English, and follow English teams no matter what sport. Your Origins just don't change.

Looks a bit busy with no focusing point to draw your attention. Looks very well focused though, a problem for many, but not you.

Excuse me-"OF listened" there is no such phrase-Full pronunciation is "We should have listened "- shortened version of "Should have" is "Should've" not "should of" -why do people not understand the language they speak?

What you carrying on about, someone who says SEX instead of SIX, should refrain from criticizing others.

Hey erniehatt, it has been a long day so please do not take this the wrong way if it comes across off, but what is it?
I know they are bottle brush blooms, but what do you want me to focus on? There is so much there it is hard to know where to look. It is almost like looking a crowd rather than an individual or a couple. Does that make sense? It is too overwhelming.
Oddly the colors seem to clash too, but in your defense it looks much better full sized.
What I will leave you with is this - What Is The Story You Are Trying To Tell?
- What do you want me to see? What are you trying to show me? Is it a clump of bottle brush, or would have worked more to find one by itself?
I hope this helps. Steve

Thanks Steve, I was not trying to convey anything really, there was just something bugging me about that I could not put my finger on, but you cleared that up, too busy.
As for finding a single bloom, not on this bush it was so packed with them, this was the best I could find.

A lot of years ago, when I was still single and living at home, My step father used to work away all week, used to come home on Fridays. Our dog used to sit on the door step at 12 o'clock, at 3 his ears would stand up and away he would go, my step father had just got off the bus. We all thought it was just coincidence.
Until one week he sat there on Thursday, my Mum said to him your a day early, but at 3 the ears stood up and away he went, the old man came a day early, since then I believe they know more than we give them credit for.
