I don’t get it. Are you saying that people who obey the law are sheep (mask wearing), and those who don’t are superior and a can rule over the sheeple?

Yes, but only for as long as you're alive.

It’s not worth anything anymore, but I’ll just add my two cents worth to the discussions about staying at home or going back to work during this p******c. I noticed some snarky and judgmental comments that have been made back and forth about what the best choice is for moving forward. Stay at home longer and possibly be safer for it, or get back to work and restart the tanked economy. This p******c has affected most of us in one way or another and it is not easy for any of us.
If we stay at home longer, what may happen? Some say an even worse economy with more people losing their businesses, their homes and their jobs. Then we could all be starving and out on the street.
If we get back to work and to a normal as possible routine, what may happen? Some say more people will get sick and more people will die. But not even all the politicians, scientists, doctors and other experts can agree about what we should do next.
As individuals, we will have an opinion about what is best. But if even the “experts” can’t agree about what happens next as having a positive or negative affect in the near future, then why would we try to tell others what is best. Let’s just agree to disagree and leave the judging to wh**ever higher power we believe in. It doesn’t cost a single cent to be nice.
It’s not worth anything anymore, but I’ll just add... (show quote)

Your approach is fine when the consequences of a choice affect only the person making the choice. In the case of C****-** a decision to open up may ultimately lead to the deaths of many people. Likewise, a decision to stay sheltered in place affects the pocketbooks of many people. I want health experts to make the decisions. This is science. There is no way a layperson can form an opinion based on raw data. We laypersons simply listen for what we want to hear, and integrate that with want we deep down want to happen, and form our opinions. Let the experts argue--at least they know what they are arguing about.

...noticed some questions about how serious the common flu is relative to Covid-19. This link at the CDC may be helpful -- it provides flu statics for the previous 10 years -- and might surprise you.

You'll note that in 2017-2018 flu season October-March the CDS estimated...
45,000,000 US residents had the flu
21,000,000 visited a doctor
810,000 were hospitalized
61,000 died
Appears to have been much worse than Covid-19, so far --- AND there were immunizations and proven therapeutics available for this common flu. Don't remember any business shutdowns or shelter in place orders -- in fact, I don't recall the news media even mentioning it.

Last year, 20-18-2019, the numbers are...
35,520,883 US residents had the flu
16,520,350 visited a doctor
490,561 were hospitalized
34,157 died

I think the problem with Covid-19 is who is dying rather than the number of people dying. My impression is that this disease wipes out young healthy people far more often than ordinary flu. Does anyone have any stats on this question?

You sound like you've adjusted to your circumstances quite well, but I wonder how technology can help. Have you tried carrying a small amplifier with a microphone and speaker? I also think of the speaking device used by Stephen Hawking. I'm not saying you can get access to his custom make audio system, but I'm guessing there are less elaborate versions of it.
