Shot with a Nikon D800E and a Nikon 24-120 F-4. It was the last day that the Christmas lights were on. I now understand why some in San Antonio objected to the LED's.

A beautiful set of photos.

"Mission San Xavier del Bac is a historic Spanish Catholic mission located about 10 miles (16 km) south of downtown Tucson, Arizona, on the Tohono O'odham San Xavier Indian Reservation. It was founded in 1692 by Padre Eusebio Kino in the center of a centuries-old Indian settlement of the Tohono O'odham (formerly known as Papago), located along the banks of the Santa Cruz River. The mission was named for Francis Xavier, a Christian missionary and co-founder of the Society of Jesus (Jesuit Order) in Europe. The mission was built at a site near the historic 1700 church first constructed here. This served the mission until being razed during an Apache raid in 1770.
Today's Mission was built between 1783-1797; it is the oldest European structure in Arizona; the labor was provided by the O'odham.[1] Widely considered to be the finest example of Spanish Colonial architecture in the United States, it hosts some 200,000 visitors each year." Source: Wikipedia

I took this images about 3 years ago. Using Aurora HDR software for PP. CC welcome.

The place hasn't changed any over the years. Nice photos. I don't know but did you try any inside?

This is the last shot taken with my 24-105 L series lens before the release accidentally unlocked the lens as I was leaning over the railing..... it dropped 2 stories and shattered. Has anyone else had similar horror stories?

Oh, that's too bad Brent... sorry to hear that.

Nice Marigolds. Won't see any of those here in north central New Mexico (altitude 6500'-7200') until spring. Of course then it will heat up and all the flowers will fade and wilt.

I appreciate you're nice comment... thanks

Thought I'd show you a bit of Phoenix. It's 72 here this afternoon, sunny blue. Here's a couple of shots of my wife's potted flowers. See what you think.

My first surfer photos of the NEW YEAR! This is Huntington Beach shot mostly from the pier looking down on the surfers on an overcast day. It's a wonderful perspective.

Very nice set Brent. I can see, new year or not, you've still got that touch.

Very pretty Brent. Give us some of the tall ships when they come in.

experienced without a wind chill. I'll start. While living in Summit County -40 was the maximum and this happened a half dozen times over a ten year period. At this temperature breathing in should be done carefully, the truck seat is rock hard and the clutch pedal on the truck is extraordinary hard to push in. Things just don't work normally. My truck did start on these occasions, but just barely. I didn't have a heater for the oil pan. vz

I did 50 below while on a job in the twin cities several years ago. My truck, a dodge, started but had to keep it running even when having coffee. My left front bearing froze and popped when I rolled the truck forward. Had to have it fixed before I left town for home, in Rapid City at the time. It cost me as much as I made that weekend... bah humbug!

When a Nikon is using a flash, we see a pre-flash which I believe it uses to set the auto exposure. I've been told the Canon does this too, but I don't perceive it. Are there 2 flashes so close together on the Canon that we can't separate them, or is it just one flash?

I believe it's three because I can feel the autofocus doing it's thing. Also it can't reduce red eye because that is part of your subject vision, it's not the camera's fault. Good luck with photos.
