You do not use a filter during the "total eclipse". For 3 minutes it will be dark. Also changing the exposure level will give you several different but good view. David

I don't see where the lens is important. If the lighting is OK, the picture will be OK. Megabytes are large on any camera if you have it set to best quality.

The total last 3 minutes. You do not need a filter for total. It is safe for all cameras. The partial is bright and just before total is the diamond ring which is spectacular. You need a filter for partial.

Unless you have a million dolar lens, 400 will capture it with a tripod. Take a few bracketted pictures then put it down and enjoy thr moment. No filter is needed for the 3 minute "total eclipse". Bracket is to capture different dispaze of the event.

i love lighthouses. Great capture, but it's too heavy on the right. Pictures need a balance to them. David

Great collection. I just got back from a West Coast trip. After you post you can go back and label each picture. I did not know which mountain you posted. David
