a sensor can be overcrowed with pixels. The fujifilm HS 10 has 10 megapixels, the newer version, the HS 20 has 16 megapixels. Photo quality is a lot better in the older HS 10. It's not so much the size of the sensor, it's the amount of pixels the manufacturs try to cram in it to make people think more is better. That's not always the case.
There are a lot of books to read, one in particular is "Kodak Guide To Digital Photography"By Rob Sheppard. By the way, what kind of camera are you working with?
so...fake photos are just an object or a sceen taken out of one photo and transformed on to another, is there a technical word for it and is it done in photoshop? I've never heard of it before. Thanks
Hi Cindy, your going from a Coolpix L 110 to a Nikon 3100 DSLR, that's a big price jump, a L110 go's for about $250 and a 3100 go's for about $500 and their two completly differnt cameras. The L 110 is a regular point & shoot with a 15X wide angle lens, a 3100 is for more advanced photographers. If you want to stay with the Coolpix series, I'd suggest you check out the Nikon Coolpix P-100 or the P-500 wich is a newer version of the P-100. Both will run you around $300 to $350. The P-100 has about a 24X lens and the P-500 has a 36X lens. Your L 110 is ok for still shots but has very little manual control. If you really want to jump to a 3100, go ahead but it might be better to go for a higher end Coolpix. Hope this helps.
I've read Nikon has a slight edge as far as DSLR's. In my opinion, flip a coin
judging by your user name, is it a Nikon, if so what model?
Nice pics, what kind of camera did you use?
I can't imagine a person ALWAY'S using a tripod. If you want to take a quick clear shot of a bird or a deer before it runs away, you wont have time to set it up. If you have a camera with VR built in and are using a tripod, it's a good idea to shut the VR off because the camera will try to compensate for shake that isn't there.
If I was at my sons or daughter's wedding and the photographer told me I couldn't take pic's, I'd tell him in no uncertin terms where he can go!!
What kind of camera did you use for those pics?
Most Nikon Coolpix cameras have high resolution screens, I have a Coolpix L-110 and have a hard time seeing it in bright sun espcially when the sun is shining on it. I don't think anybody has made a LCD screen yet that you can see in bright light. All you can do is shield the light with your hand.
