I took a peek at what my daughter was painting and immediately thought it would make a good still life.
I hoped to get some nice snow pictures, but conditions weren't right. Oddly enough, this was my favorite of the day.
Absolutely better. The curve of the branch fits the curve of the hill; the tree makes an eye-stopper on the left. Good shot.
Looks like I'm all thumbs!
I looked out the window and saw this.
Ever year at the Evergreen Fair in Monroe, Washington they have a lumberjack show. Here are a few fun snaps from this year's fair.
One consideration is the field of view. A telescope is just a very long telephoto lens. You can get beautiful pictures of the moon or star clusters, but if you want panoramas, like the Milky Way, you will do better with a regular lens.

Great shots from my favorite spot on earth.

Yesterday as I was riding to work in a commuter van, we passed through Snohomish Valley just as the sun was rising. There was a low, dense fog that made the scenery beautiful. Of course, I couldn't take any pictures. So I went back by myself this morning, hoping that I would find the same conditions. There was some fog, but not nearly as nice as yesterday. But I took some pictures anyway. Here are some of the few that turned out acceptably.
