Looks like your Texas doves have more white in their chest feathers than North Carolina doves.....😉

Excellent shot. The difference in the appearance of the two doves breast could be due to the sun angle.

Appears to be an immature male as it has red throat feathers beginning to show. Two views on a cloudy day.

There is something about this lens that is making me like it a lot. It not quite as sharp as my 70-300 G but close.

Great shots. At Newark international, security really frowns at picture taking of planes. Have been detained there more than once.

It happens here as well. The idiots must think our cameras are tiny rocket launchers, or death ray devices.

I have a 500 Minolta AF reflex - it is EASY to hand hold ! - but I would only do it as a last resort. If at all possible, it is on a monopod or tripod ! !

Try that Minolta Auto focus in manual mode and let me know how it works for you.

Okay lets get this straight: If you are standing in the cockpit door way and you take a photo through the front windows with a DSLR having an 18mm lens, you will most likely see that the co-pilot will appear on the right side of the photo. Congruently, the pilot(captain) will appear on the left. This is the way that God made it so.

What lens was this? Do you mean the 150-600?

Nope, it is a manual focus 600mm prime reflex(mirror).
