The Bosque Del Apache Sandhill Crane Festival, held every year, near San Antonio, NM offered a star photography class. Forty of us gathered at the Very Large Array Radio Telescope (www.vla.nraa.edu)located about an hours drive west of Socorro, NM one evening last week to learn the process from Roman Kurywczak. The night sky was not perfect but we still managed to shoot some amazing images.

Sounds like a really fun night out. Super shots. What time of night were these taken?

Cute shot. Should sell this one to Mars for advertising the Twix bars.

Maybe the OP could cut some toothpicks or matchsticks to size and glue them to the picture so they appear to be supporting horse and rider. Then show the photo to the photographer; he might get the hint.

Absolutely stunning Donna. Especially like that morning glory. The color just pops off the screen. Download is very nice.

Stupendous captures. Would love to know more about your stacking setup and post. PM would be fine if you are so inclined.

Never mind about the stacking. Douglas supplied a great link in the next post.

Very nice exposure and composition on these. Really like the star bursts too. Especially the second one.

Great portrait. She did well accessorizing to make the necklace compliment her eyes.

Gorgeous spider. Too bad it was so shy. Would have liked to see it head on as well. Sure you don't want to give it a go?

Better brace that left side before you and your horse slide out of frame!

Just a few taken over fences during a walk around the block. The last one is an effect called 'Seamless Image' from Ashampoo's Photo Commander 10. Please feel free to download.

So I take it that this effect takes a central subject and creates a seamless repeating pattern out of it such as your bloom in this image? I see a great brackground generator here. I especially like what it has done with your subject. Can almost smell its perfume.

Hey Billyspad, really neat truck. Can easily see why you were attracted to it. Really like your treatment here. Nice job bringing out the blown out area on the hood (maybe bonnet to you). I have noticed that the HDR tonemapping has a tendency to "dirty" white areas. I see this happening on the area above the cab and on those interesting objects (flags) hanging from the bumper. Maybe a bit of cleanup here would improve the image?

Did anyone notice that when she has a man in the frame he is never completely seen? Not even in the portraits hanging on the wall.
