Or the new Sony A5100 @ $550 and a 35mm 1.8 for $450. They also have a 30mm 3.5 for $253.

I think it is currently pre-order with an early September release date.

<snip>unfortunately some so called backup solutions do not permit the restoration of a single file. <snip>

That is so true and so frustrating. Also some backup programs store them in a proprietary format. If you want to restore, you need their program. Not all do this.

Side note: but for the breakup of Ma Bell we would all be using Unix today. A much superior and more secure OS at its core compared to Windows or Mac

Because for some reason some people have an overwhelming need to be able to shoot at every possible focal length from 14mm to 200mm, and because the collective cost (new) for the three lenses is in the $6000 to $6500 range, the way they justify to themselves spending that much money for that much coverage is to give them a special name~~~thus Holy Trinity.

If they are church goers, can they deduct the cost from their tithe?

Are there any class action suits against Cannon products. Mine keeps misfiring ...

Are you just saying it is "misfiring" because the pictures don't look good?

I think I will use that phrase the next time my wife asks why she does not look great in a picture I have taken.

No... no... honey, the camera just misfired!

You will also want to be in continuous servo and, especially at 2.8, use center point focusing and possibly center-weighted metering( I don't think your camera has enough focus points to do anything more complicated)

LOL... gold... True or just a very funny "blond" joke?

Four blonds (or lawyers if you prefer [or blond lawyers]) enter a bar with an almost completed jig-saw puzzle. They lay it on a table and ask for a bottle of champagne with four glasses. They put in the last piece, shout and scream then toast each other with the champagne.

The bartender asks what the excitement is about. One of the blonds (or lawyers…) points at the front of the puzzle box to where it reads, in the lower left hand corner “5 to 7 years,” then says, proudly “It only took us 4!”

Using the windows system should give you an either or choice. It should say "move to " then click on that and choices will pop up, or "copy to " with choices.

But as defaults go, when going between drives defaulting to copy (like Winodws) is better than defaulting to move (like a Mac according to the earlier comment)

What is the variable aperture on the Canon 10-18mm?

Max 4.5-5.6. If you leave 10mm you leave 4.5 immediately. But, hey! It's only $299.00! For interiors, you will need a flash. For exteriors, how much would you be shooting wider than 4.5? You can get pretty close with the lens at 4.5 and get farily decent separation from the background on say a flower. Otherwise you are probably shooting at smaller apertures for depth of field anyway.

I bet it was a serene location shoot as well, WalMart toy aisle.

DUH! And the outfits on the Barbie and Ken, right behind them in the picture, were the ones they thought would be Photoshoped on.

And my husband is the one that moved them, they did not appear on the hard drive after being moved but reappeared a day or so later without us telling the computer to do anything so it's something automatic that we aren't finding

Was Lightroom originally setup and installed before or after the new drive was added and the files moved?

Is the external drive on when the computer is booted up, or does he usually turn it on after the computer is started?

Is the external drive used for any other backup function or only to store the photos?

They are allowed to vote. That does not mean they remember to go to the polls or know where they are.

That was FOUR PAGES AGO. It might be helpful for you to start a thread on the same issue for PC users. I would read it. I use a PC.

First time was on page 2, but we are on page 5 now. The question is about backing up from a MAC to a new exteranl hard drive. It is a software question for the MAC
