Exactly why do you like the iPhone. So far I haven't met anyone who could articulate why they think the iPhone is superior. Which features/functions make it so great?

I think most people like it because it is easy to use. Of course that ease of use comes at the cost of capability and flexibility, but for most people that is not important while being able to say "I have an iPhone too!" is important.

I have Droid RAZR MAXX HD. Two years old and the new iPhone is just now catching up.

Stop "Dog-Earing" or leaving the page OPEN where it reads NEW Cameras For Sale... with the B&H Catalog in the bathroom.

But I hide it in an old copy of Penthouse so she won't think anything is up!!!

Yes, its a good choice, but one of the big Sigma zooms (there are 4 now) may be a better choice for you.
Also, I note you do not have an ultrawide for landscape work, or a shallow DOF for portrait work.

The ultra wide is a missing piece. A 10-22 would fill that. I do not see what body you are using. If it an APS-C the 10-18 is also a nice choice @ $299.00

When your wife says "is that a new camera"?

I was going to remark that your wife must be very observant. But then I remembered that if my wife goes to vist her family for a week, when she gets back she can tell if I had a Cheese Steak the night she left on her trip.

In fact, I think my wife knows if I just think about a new camera.

How do they know these things?

I have be using an EyeFi sd card for some time now, I am very pleased with the way it downloads my photos to my tablet and then I upload them to my Dropbox.
Here is the mystery, when I upload photos from Dropbox to my PC for processing the photos have all be geotagged!
My camera does not have GPS, I use my phone for any geotagging as required.
Can anyone explain this please?
I have attached a photo using EyeFi/Dropbox which was taken with my non GPS camera and now has GPS data included in the exif.
I have be using an EyeFi sd card for some time now... (show quote)

It probably pulls the geo tag from your iPad if your iPad has location services.

I think you like me still have a lot to learn about the functions of your camera. There is no need to trade off a Chevy for a Ford because it has a nicer interior.

Unless you are single and trying to impress a date.

Of course, I, happily, don't need to worry about that anymore. :D

Hello Allan
I have been out of town and just now checked in to answers to my questions. I appreciate all the advise you have given. I can see you are very knowledgable on cameras and lenses. I have a Canon Rebel (not sure what model, need to check that out). Cruising the Panama Canal in October and want to make sure I have the right equipment. I have the lense that came with the camera and also a Tamron 80-200. Anymore input would be highly appreciated.

The rebel line is quite long. It might help to know which model.

If it is the original or the rebel xt, you might just benefit from an upgrade to a more advanced model such as anything from the t3i through the 7D (mark I, currently available at a great prices due to the imminent release of the Mark II.)

If you are already in that range, a nice new lens for crop sensors is the Canon 10-18 which would fill a hole in your current lenses and at $299 is a great little lens.

I think, maybe, just maybe, if you had the funds and bought out all of the inventory at B&H and Adorama and then refused to sell any of the cameras to anyone for any reason, then you just might have a teensy weensy problem.

If you decide to shoot on the Brooklyn Bridge (which is a nice spot) be advised that a passing truck or bus does cause a lot of vibration and sway. So a fast shutter speed and stablization help.

How about when you feel compelled to ask on UHH - " I want to shoot - insert photo scene here- should I use THIS camera or THAT camera or do I need to run out and buy another better/different camera?" Along the lines of the never ending series of 'which lens' questions posted here.

Well clearly if you need to ask if you need another camera, YOU NEED ANOTHER CAMERA!!!

if you change sensor and lens you are no longer comparing sensor sizes only.
Your comparison would be invalid.

But if you want to compare how someone would actually use the different cameras to take the same shot, you would use different lengths. You do not need to change lenses if your comparison is using a zoom.

Otherwise a comparison of the crop picture, including representing the 'missed' portion of the shot by white space against the 'full' shot taken by the FF would be the appropriate comparison.
