Igor,

People are willing and ready to help. You just have to give us the information we need. Camera? Lens? Distance? ISO? Shutter speed? Apeture? Do you know any of these?

Igor,

One more try. You appear to be Really close to the subject. The fisheyeing of the face sort of indicates that. Some lenses do not focus well when physically close. So what camera, what lens and how far were you from the subject?

You might want to reach out with a PM to Hershel a user here. http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/user_profile.jsp?usernum=13152 He reps B&H and deals with a lot of issues.

I am really surprised by your experience. It does not seem typical given the experience of other Hoggers.

you know, I was going to let this go, but now I am curious,

why is it that you feel YOU have to defend "the WORLD WIDE WEB"?

blah,blah, the cloud{had to stay on topic!!

From you I need to defend nothing, since that appears to be what you know and understand.

I am now dropping this, since you cannot grasp a simple concept like an isolated (or a few isolated) event(s) cannot be generalized to a much larger universe. But hey, like I said you clearly don't understand statistics. Heck! "blah, blah" was tha most intellegent thing you said.

Issue closed.

WHAT!!!! do you own target!!! OH NO, you are the guy in charge of security and failed!! I get it, you are in secure!!
its ok to lash out, get it all out of your system.......there , there now !!
{and target is not the only company lately to get hacked!}
no need to be jealous of a red motorcycle!!
:D and the other group of people that are going die earley are one's that can't joke!!
don't take life to seriously, no body gets out alive!!! not even you

And yet, puting data in the cloud is still safer than riding a motorcycle. You clearly have NO clue how statisitics actually work or what they mean.

The shot looks like you were pretty close to the subject. What camera and lens were you using?

You set your aperture the same way you set your shutter speed and ISO, according to the lighting and subject matter.

And what you want the result to look like.

absolutely !!! ASK Target!!! now isn't that ironic?? {target...........bull's-eye..............wait for it............ }

:D :D

Once again misuse of anecdotal evidence rears it’s ugly head. There a thousands of companies out there. Most of them have had no serious breach, yet one did, then they all must.

Let’s take hypothetical to illustrate why this thinking is false.
News story: man killed in motorcycle accident (picture showing a mangled red motorcycle.)
Conclusion, people on red motorcycles are more likely to die in an accident than those on (safe) blue motorcycles.

Just before the shutter opens a focus setting adjustment is locked, it may be from a single focus point seen in the viewfinder, or it may be an average from several points in the viewfinder. This happens at almost the speed of light, while the shutter button is depressed.

BUT, the only thing that counts is where it is focused when the picture is taken. There are lots of ways to get to a focal distance, and they are valuable. But there is a difference between using multiple points to choose a focal distance and focusing on different points simultaneously. I think the discussion has given the impression (intentionally or not) that the camera can focus on more than one point in a given shot. I am just trying to clarify that point.

For video: While the STM is important for video, in certain circumstances, constant aperture can be more important. Sticking with the Sigma 18-35 1.8 example. While the motor might not be quite as smooth as an STM, it is close. But, the constant 1.8 means you can zoom in low light without changing the aperture. You maintain the fast lens.

Given that you are not spending for a full frame, I have to assume cost is a factor. At that price, and in that range the 18-35 1.8 is hard to beat.

Note; the Sigma 18-35 is an HSM which I think is not quite as smooth as Canon's STM but does a fairly good job,

If $400 is the upper end of your budget, spend it. As David Pine suggested, it could be cheaper in the long run. A $200 tripod just means that you will eventually have spent $600 for a $400 tripod when you get rid of the $200 one and buy the $400.

If you are looking for a 10-20mm lens that is well constructed and optically sound, try the Sigma version. It is quite a bit less expensive than the Canon version. I have used mine on Rebel XTi and T2i's with excellent results.

It is only $100.00 more than the 10-18 and more durable. Good suggestion. The price came down from $480, just after I got the Canon 10-18. :cry:

I might have gone with Sigma at $399, or maybe not since I am saving for a 7DII.
