Not much more that I can add to the comments already made. These are great shots!

Hi Janice, and welcome to UHH. Nice to have another person here from the flatlands of Saskatchewan.

I have had the Canon Pro Mark II for the past 18 months. Great quality print, and worth the few extra dollars. My previous photo printer was an Epson. I found the quality of that printer inferior to the Canon and it went through ink much faster.

Fantastic. I have been thinking of purchasing a MKIII, and now I am much closer to making my decision.

You might want to have a look at a program called Focus Magic. They claim to make amazing fixes to blurry photos.

I use the Sigma 10-20mm. A great, sharp, and fairly light lens.

I don't see this as very objective. Those who have used Canon for many years (like me) will say go to a Canon. Those who have used the other 2 brands will advocate for their use. You have to decide by making objective comparisons -- going to a camera shop and ask questions, what feels right for you and so on.

By the way, those are great shots. Really like the first one.

Cotondog,
We have a lot in common, I too own a 50D and dropped it on a cement sidewalk also. (and then kicked it too) Lens trashed, camera fine. My question is are you satisfied with the noise you get at asa settings 400 and above? I dont own much in the 2.8 line, so I use high asa settings. I find that it falls short of my expectations.

Hi Ron:
I don't really have a problem with noise. I have attached (I hope) a picture I took of the milky way recently. Shot at 1600 iso. There is no post prossing done to the picture.

I think these are great shots. Love those brown eyes. If you look real close at my avitar, you will see that I have brown eyes, too. We have something in common!

I have had the Canon 50D since they first emerged on the market almost 4 years ago, and have never had a problem with it. I even dropped it from waist level onto a cement driveway one time, picked it up, and continued shooting. It's been a great camera for me.

I have a Sigma 10-20 on my Canon 50D. Excellent lens.

I agree with most others. Keep the moon as it provides a bit of character (a mood) that is not captured in the shot without it. And it lends credence to the shadows on the mountains.

I use a Sigma 10 - 20 mm. on a Canon 50D. It's a great landscape lens, very sharp. I do not see the distorion around the edges that was mentioned by djmarti.
