We mostly have the yellow bill here in this part of Texas. Hard to find and even harder to photograph. Good shot.
Good shots, close, in focus and not a feeder in sight.
Can't help but wonder what things must look like through the eyes of that critter.
Like me, this fellow is starting to need a trim.
I grew up about 30 miles from Caddo lake. It is the only natural lake in the state of Texas and is only about 12 feet deep. The lake is full of old cypress trees with lots of spanish moss and is a great place to take a camera. But be careful, it is easy to get turned around or lost.
Last week I responded to DWHart24's great pictures of Painted Buntings by saying that I had not seen these birds this spring in Texas. I did go to my friends ranch this weekend and had a short time to sit and watch the feeders. The following is not the picture I wanted, but I could not get bird to pose on the perch like I wanted him to so I got this picture (bad focus and all). The point is that they are here and I hope to spend more time and get better shots next time.
Regis, as always a great picture. Do you do much post editing? Whatever you do it's super. Keep doing it.
I have not seen these birds in Texas as yet this year. I am going to the ranch this weekend. We shall see.
When I was a kid these were some of my favorite bugs. If I had seen a blown up picture like this, I may have changed my mind. Not a very pretty face. However, they do make a summers evening in the country a sight to behold. Great work Sippy.
Number two should go on the wall.
You have got to be proud of this one.
You did it again, Sippy. Thanks
Thank you, Swamp-Cork, this one held still for me.
Love your work, Sippy. Keep looking for bugs and keep sending your pictures. I don't know about the other Hogs, but you do have one huge fan.
artesdecobo, Great information, thanks for sharing.
