Why I was unimpressed by my visit to Acadia National Park this October. And CA is a few thousand miles closer to ID, and hard for many to believe but (in many parts) much less crowded than Acadia.

I went to JP Burns State Park many times and never saw ANYONE else there!

Two of many photos I took in 10 years of living in California. The first is McWay Falls in Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park. It is only 1 of 2 California waterfalls that cascade directly into the ocean. The second is near Santa Cruz, CA near sunset. Hope you enjoy them.

Nice photo! My fond memory is of when our daughter was about 2 and in a restaurant, my hubby ordered a chili cheese omelette. Out came a beautiful plate with a long canned green pepper on top of the omelette. My daughter piped up loudly, 'Oooh a banana slug!'

LOL! Love it

Took this picture in the redwoods of northern California. My wife was mortified that I laid down on my belly in the middle of the trail to take the picture-but it won 1st place in the California Fish & Game photo contest, Invertebrate Class. They can grow up to 10 inches long and are the official mascot of the University of California Santa Cruz.

Morning! Decided I would like sharing photos I have taken with "ya'll" (picked up a few southern phrases after living in the south for a long while). I have enjoyed seeing others work and looking forward to seeing more. My interests are primarily wildlife, nature and landscape photography and I have been fortunate to have lived in Montana (near Yellowstone), California (Santa Cruz) and NC. I am excited to be part of this great group.
