I have been to two family weddings where I was told in strong words to leave the camera home. At one of the weddings, I did shoot with my iPhone. Told my sister afterwards expecting to get blasted. Next thing I am told to place my photos on AirPod. The professional photographer had messed up the shoot.
My local camera club is people over 60. Some are retired and so close to it. The degree of talent is overwhelming, the pictures are outstanding. The group buys new gear, all the time. Spending retirement savings. This is the bread and butter for camera stores. Some members say buy local, some mail order from the big online stores. The local stores are just hanging on, as with the virus and being over 60, people are considered. They buy online, no contact, with store staff.
Buy local!!
That is what is great about the Hog, people help each other. Yes, sometimes we have “Senior moment”.
Looks like the m1 mark 2 is not included, only pen
I am looking to use my old Minolta MC glass on my Olympus M1 Mark 2. Having a hard time finding converter, so I am asking the Hogs for help.
I too have a collection of Minolta RC glass. Have a adapter for my Nikon F2 and use the Minolta lenes on it. 6 lenes to go with my Minolta XE-7.
Lot’s of people up early reading the Hog. Thank you for your input.
Oly has many great lens, the pro series is great.
I made the change from Nikon, for the same reason as you. I bought a camera in a bundle that has all pro lenes at 2.8. What a great kit. Bought there low cost 300 mm zoom $100.00 sharp lens light. My back loves the lighter equipment.
Yesterday I made a trip to my favorite local camera store. I am a Olympus owner and was surprised that the camera store had sold of there Olympus stock. I understand that Olympus is not a big seller in the states. But like the camera system and like to buy local.
With the announcement this week that Olympus is selling to a hedge fund it makes me question if I should keep the system.
The other thought is to keep the system and buy more product as Olympus owners sell there equipment.
I too belong to a local camera club. I asked for so help with Photoshop, and was told to learn from YouTube.
One of the members did spend several hours work with me on Lightroom.
Take a online class, go to the local university and take a class. Get a book and follow it.
Just play with it, use the tutorials that come from Adobe.
I find the interface in photoshop, very difficult, and use Lightroom and on1.
I find myself looking for the Texas wild flowers. The big state parks are closed, so I have to look local. Found a yard that is full of blue bonnets, 5 mins from the house been there to shoot 3 times. There is a field of about 4 acres of Indian Paint Brush just starting to come into season. Shot with the iPhone yesterday, going to get the camera out in a week.
