Dangit, can't get the upload to work.
A fun one (of two, the other won't attach to the post) from playing around with my autofocus points. D850, 105mm 2.8 macro lens, 1/1250, 2.8
I love its plethora of options and capabilities. Growing in to it has been one of the most pleasurable hobby experiences of my life. Being able to crop out a good photo that still has reasonably high resolution is a welcome feature of all those pixels available.
My bride owes me a favor - I'm working on her with this.
Ask if you can go back and do it again :D
I like the B/W version, personally, but both are good. I wouldn't argue with her too much about it because everyone has a flavor they prefer and not all of us can articulate it. We can, however, be less harsh in delivering the sentiment.
This could be a fun project if you still have the raw file.
If there's one thing clear to me, it's that shopping around while paying off other bills has its benefits. The comparisons between 24-70 lenses by fstoppers was really good and solidified for me which one I'll be getting, but on some of the more oddball stuff (ex. really good astro lenses) it's clear that third party is the way to go - Sigma's 20mm 1.4 Art is easily my top choice, followed by the 14mm 1.8 or 24mm 1.4. Then we start looking at the 35mm 1.4, either Sigma or OEM (frankly I haven't decided between them yet).
These are wild. Not the biggest fan of the last but I am certainly not complaining.
That's a long walk - central US :)

This works well but the OP's title was "Stalking wildlife" as in moving around.
I'm flexible. One nice option is the feeding stations near the visitor center at my local state park - lots of viewing from the second floor viewing rooms but you contend with bumps, fingerprinted glass, and crowds. It's much easier to hang out in the woods nearby, but the wildlife is still a little skittish since the woods are a bit dense and getting a longer distance shot is a rare opportunity.
Where are you located? I'd be happy to be a second camera if you're not too far away.
I thought about headlining this "Hunting Wildlife" but figured the outcry would be impressive, so...
Since I can't find a dedicated wildlife sub-forum, maybe the right eyes will find this. For you wildlife shooters, how many of you are using ghillie suits for camo? I'm building one but it is turning in to way more of a project than I had ever intended, and I have a couple in mind - the current one is a Woodland color, dark greens and olives, some lighter shades, a couple tans, browns, and black shadows. I'd like to grab one for fall (mostly grays and browns, some rust and orange and gold) and spring (light greens) but without investing ALL THAT TIME again, do any of you have sources for them? A winter one would be cool to have but eh, later.
