I subscribe to Office 365 Home for $100/year and am very happy with it. This includes the premium version of Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook & One Note (plus Publisher & Access if you use a PC) for up to 6 people. My wife and I can access all of our files via One Drive using our laptop, iPads & iPhones. It also includes cloud backup with One Drive(1 T per person) plus Skype. Every couple of weeks I get all of their updates.
Perfect? Probably not but serves our needs very well. You can go to Microsoft.com and there are charts that compare all of their options.

Wow! I am going to Bullfrog Marina in September to volunteer for the NPS on Lake Powell. I will drive this road. Any specific directions would be appreciated.

Same here. Need to block out some time to go out with them and see what the world brings.

I only dream that I will one day capture a picture as beautiful as this one!

Spent last week at Holden Beach, NC (just north of NMB) and got a number of sunrises and sunsets. Beautiful time of the year and the weather has been unbelievably clear and hot.
If you have never been to Charleston before there are some wonderful guided tours which not only give one a great history lesson but are wonderful photography opportunities.

I have been away on vacation for the past month and am now back and trying to catch up. There are several good suggestions here and I will try each of them and figure out what will work best for me.
I thank each of you for your time and thoughtful responses.

I know where that is and I would agree that it would be Lenoir. We have a cabin just off the BRP about 45 minutes north of Blowing Rock so over the last 20 years we have been up and down vast stretches of the BRP and most of the back roads of Ashe County.

Beautiful shot David. A Wall Hanger for sure.

Beautiful shot! I am very familiar with Blowing Rock and the BRP. Where were you on the BRP and were you looking towards Boone or towards N. Wilkesboro or the Lenoir area?

In addition to photography another hobby of mine is genealogy. In this process I have accumulated a number of old group photographs of family reunions. Where might I find a software program or process that I could save just an outline of the individuals in the photo and then number them so I could then start a list of those in the photo.

Grew up in suburban Philadelphia and have many fond memories of the Mummers Parade. Have lived the last 50+ years in NC and am disappointed that it is not on national TV. Hard to compete with the Rose Bowl Parade. Yesterday I did find it on a Facebook livestream but the quality of the broadcast was not very good. Did not see any of the clubs with the large head dresses (Fancy Division) and that was disappointing. Love your pictures!

I bought one but really have not used it. I tried it once when I was taking pictures where I was moving quickly from picture to picture. That is not a good situation to be trying out a new product. I concluded that it was possibly a good product where you were using a tripod. In all honesty I can't give you a very good thumbs up or down but my impression is that it is not a quick and easy plug and play. After the holidays I will get it out of the box and try it again in a more static environment.

One of my hobbies is genealogy. In my quest to find out about members on the family tree (back to 1700 at this point) I take a lot of photos of headstones, old homes, businesses, etc. These are then going into an electronic library which I am sending on a thumb drive to some 30 relatives. Hopefully if some relative down the family tree ever gets interested in genealogy and wants to visit one of those locations they will have the GPS coordinates to do so.

I have not had this specific problem - yet, simply because I have not needed to use the external Super Drive. However I am having all sorts of other problems ever since I upgraded to Mojave.

As others have said I would start with your homeowners policy. Ask about the type of policy you have. When I was with Travelers I had to insure them with a "Personal Articles Floater". I believe that a "marine" homeowners or rider has a much broader coverage than a standard policy. Now that I am with Liberty Mutual that additional policy is not needed. Still have the items listed but they have the broader coverage.

I have an older Sony TV and an older version of Apple TV hooked up to it. One of the options with the Apple TV is "computers". I have no problems mirroring anything on my MacBook Pro laptop, iPhone or iPad to the TV. When I mirror pictures I have had no problem going to the pictures or album that I want to show.
In my case I think it is easy because of the Apple TV. When I want to mirror anything from my Apple devices I do not try to use any of the apps on the TV, I just go to the Apple TV option.
