As stated I also find 3:2 ratio the best, then can always do square in PP. However back in the day of shooting weddings with my Rollie Twin Lens 2-1/4 × 2-1/4" sq negatives on film I loved it because could leave my flash mounted high, print 8x10" in vertical or horizontal dependent on the composition.

interesting, why is he setting, and she is standing?
I have a similar photo of my grandmother taken in 1921 and actually asked her why she was standing. Told me dresses then were usually silk or satin and brides did not sit in them to avoid wrinkles or wear. That was her story and I can't challenge it, she has been gone too long.

VP of Qualcomm says the same thing, maybe just a year longer. I have the Samsung S22 (3 lens not the 5 lens one) and for the very first time in 50 yrs I took almost half my photos with it vs my DSLR on a recent vacation to the East coast. In a word - convenience.

If only want Smilies, hit Quote Reply, click on Show Smilies, select choice, delete the quoted reply portion, Send. Takes longer to explain then do, it is quick. Or, what rmalarz said. <grin>

She has great potential with that "wicked smile" but if you didn't have time to compose, change lightening, etc then not much to critique on a snapshot.

It also depends on what format the camera uses. I have tested my camcorder, my Nikon camera's video, and my cell phone on the same subject. The larger size of the file is not necessarily the best.

If 1 Tb SSD is your only drive, consider installing an internal hard drive for photos. Or just store your photos on your SSD (Operating System takes up about 1/2%) assuming it probably has 700-800 Gb of empty space after all programs, etc. If ever fills can always cross that bridge when it comes. (Obviously want to back up photos in the Cloud or off computer on portable storage).

Would have benefitted from a highlight to give her face and hair more life & texture.

I always enjoy viewing & appreciating your work, possibly the most, because it is so much more complicated then just aperature, shutter, compose, snap.

Interesting indeed. I thought I put it in the gallery. Senior moment, I suppose.
Have had enough of those myself.

Interesting. Never would have thought re-roofing & re-siding a gambrel roof transverse barn, let alone flanking sheds and cupolas, would fall under a "Main Photography Discussion" forum.

The average person...
Not sure it applies in other countries as much as here. We are the leaders at marketing stuff not needed, of little value, to make it in demand. Need I mention Beanie Babies. <grin>

Because the average American likes "free" crap, regardless of the value. It makes them feel special, smart, getting a deal... or anyway that is what I learned in 36 yrs in Sales & Marketing.

I like both because they reflect (pun intentional) two different moods. I personally would have cropped off the top wall to almost the mirror for better composition. Well done for self portraits.

Kudos to her for still living life versus hiding from it. And to you for the photo by just "capturing her" versus forcing some artificial or unnatural pose.
