We are seeing all sorts of similar claims here in NZ. I blame media reporters and others who want to push a particular narrative (c*****e c****e, readership numbers etc) who deliberately distort, misreport, alter or change the emphasis of the facts to give more credence to their article. It is happening more often on a daily basis.

You guys are slow learners. 40 years ago I went out and bought several sets of small drawers and sorted stuff then. At that stage it was English Imperial. 10 years later a single container with partitions for the weird US sizes then 10 years later again repurposed some of the drawers for metric. This was started by my getting very PO'd having to sort through my fathers single large tin of screws and realizing how time consuming and frustrating the whole process was. If I want a screw I get the right size and length, a washer, lock washer and nut in the 10 seconds it takes to walk across the garage. I also have selections of English BA threads and stainless steel. And because I get very PO'd again with constantly replacing rusted screws I am building up a metric selection of everything in stainless and use these whenever I can since stainless stuff is now more affordable. Stainless has a higher tensile strength than ordinary steel screws. Same deal with woodscrews. Also have a small selection of brass but that is being replaced by ss.
That 40 years ago was when I just got over the small feeling of satisfaction gained by defeating the odds and finding that one screw that was the right fit (and knowing that it was temporary anyway because it would eventually rust).
Whoops again over 2 sentences sorry.

There are a couple of things to always keep in mind.
The first is that the tighter and neater you wrap cable bundles the more often you will want to change one and it will be the hardest one to extract.
Second if you do extract/change one then always replace it in a straight line. This means don't wind it around things especially other cables. Rubber/plastic cable outers have an extraordinary ability to jam on each other when you are pulling on them.
I find that what works for me the best is learn to ignore your OCD feelings about neatness and just concentrate on leaving them tidy and out of the way. My bundles might have 2-3 at most cable ties.

What I find disturbing is the amount of fabricated data these science agencies use. If you have 2 recording weather stations say, 200 miles apart, they will average the data from those stations and record it as a third point located between the two live points.

This will only work if beforehand they have checked out that the weather at the two stations is very similar most of the time (a year ?) AND that the weather in-between is also similar. Otherwise it is just a guess. And I bet they don't check because it is too 'hard'. I have found that our weather forecasts, in the way I want to use it, is at best accurate maybe 20% of the time. Trouble is that the gut feel of the forecaster has to get in behind the 'facts' so they make a prediction to be on the safe side.
An example. They look up at the sky and think probably no rain there but to be on the safe side they forecast (suggest) perhaps a few scattered showers. So I don't paint that day because I don't want rain drops on my paint. The end of the day comes and no rain. I suppose they can't win really but it is so frustrating.
Weather forecasting hasn't got any better over the last 20 years.

WiFi can be good and quite reliable but not as good AND fast as a cable. If you want to transfer gigabytes of data wifi just doesn't do it quickly. I know quickly is a relative thing. If you are retired, of a somewhat laid back disposition, only want to do it once in a blue moon, and time is absolutely not an issue then stick with wifi. I use wire for almost everything.

"The increase population of the world is accelerating our Extinction"? That's weird, you just claimed that we have population growth at the time the world is supposedly warming up due to human activity. So if the warming of the globe is causing the Extinction of humans, than why is the growth of the population accelerating as the world is warming up?...........

This is a typical argument where everybody is only looking at part of the issue. In any discussion or argument there is always a main point. But if you are thinking about it at all you have to look at, at the least, the main point AND probably the next 9 points (which will obviously be lesser but still very relevant). And just below the main point that the worlds population is still increasing is the other point that all these 8 billion also want to raise their standard of living. And it is this bit of the equation that is causing the problems just as much as there are more of us. And what does this entail - mostly more energy and physical resources like copper for example, and lithium at the moment, plus of course more and better food.
EVs are fine but if all the ICEs disappeared there is no way we can produce enough power without doing things like opening up coal fired power stations. Which is one of things we are trying to get rid of.
We all know that trying to get a government to change its mind is like trying to move a pyramid by three people pushing it. I have no idea what the solution is but to work on something that will help you first have to recognize that there is a problem AND what that problem is. Most people on here haven't done that yet - they can't get past that first initial main point !
And I apologise again to those who are unable to read past the first 2 sentences because of their inability to comprehend.

I did mention that we drive on the left here. And I have had an accident on a round-a-bout as a result of a poorly maintained one.

If you move into a new house make sure it is fully wired for network cables. We had a big earthquake and I rewired the house with CAT5e (works at 1GB as long as the length is not great). All cables go back to the same place which has a 24 port 1GB switch. Cables in walls were a piece of cake since most relevant walls were being re wall papered so I just cut holes in the drywall, mounted the outlet blocks and glued back the pieces I cut out. Not a big deal if your walls are painted.
A drop from the ceiling usually requires 4 holes, 1 at the ceiling level, 2 at the dwang positions on the way down and 1 near the bottom where the output box goes. Not for the faint hearted cutting holes in the wall. If you have the room you can arrange 1 drop to be accessed from both sides of the wall. If you have a flat roof and concrete foundations then you are a bit stuffed. Same, to a degree, if you have a two storied house. I wouldn't buy a two storied house myself especially if you could see a roof painting period coming up (in NZ anyway) because OSH demands a full scaffolding to access the roof and this usually costs more than the painting. Often you see a replacement roof go up because it is cheaper than repainting. Two storied works also if you are the owner from new and know that you will be out of there before repainting is required.

I use Firefox and it is set to always ask me where to store the download. So if it is an update for xyz it is always placed in the xyz folder. Apart from the odd thing my downloads folder never has more than a couple of files in it so I don't lose anything I might want.

In New Zealand a turn appears to be more indicated by seeing the stop light come on first.

I would question your 90%. My experience is about 96%. If you had to resit your practical and failed to indicate a turn properly then your licence should be instantly revoked on the spot until you could demonstrate your ability to do it properly. State income would rise quite a bit from relicensing fees, and the road toll might drop to half.

Leaving aside issues like stopping on an incline etc most intersections are usually level. If inclined then by all means leave it in gear. Shifting from N to D does not take any time especially if you have been monitoring what the traffic around you has been doing. It is called being situationally aware. Nor does my car take long to actually go into gear. Once again it is called being situationally aware. If you have been situationally aware (and I hope like hell you have been otherwise you shouldn't be driving) then you don't get impatience people behind you honking.
I have had a stroke and your body is still functioning but you have no control over it. So if you are still in gear but you lose the ability to flick it out of gear, or do anything else, then your vehicle will either move into the car in front or propel you out into the intersection in the path of the 18 wheeler. No thanks.
As to Tesla being able to tell exactly what your body thinks it is doing forget it. And it would have difficulty in dragging itself AND the 18 wheeler to the hospital. It might manage to do that if you only collected a cyclist because he/she would also need to go.
If you have never had a stroke then you are lucky. If you have then think about things you can do to minimise possible affects on your own life and that of others.
I suspect if you looked at the odds of things happening to you that being rear ended is not high. I have never been rear ended but I have seen the odd car drifting out into intersections when they shouldn't have. If you did get rear ended and you were situationally aware then you have the option of applying your brakes in the same way you catch a cricket ball.
Oh and I apologise to those who don't (can't) get past the first 2 sentences of a posting because it looks like it might be too long for their comprehension skills.
