Yes, I still carry it as a back-up and it still works great. Quality has always been great.
I still have my D200 of many years as well as an 800. I still like the heft and feel of the 200. It has been a great machine.

Neat, eh?? The wife drug me to the local shelter to "Just Look" at kitties. When I opened the door this little tabby jumped on my arm and climbed up my shoulder and laid down around my neck and began a loud 4-cycle purr. Needless to say, Rufus is now at home and has taken over managing our little Irish Shortie Jack Russel
Be on the lookout for tripods at yard sales, etc. I have a Gitzo I purchased for $50 at a yard sale. It had one leg with the screw adjustment with stripped threads. Since Gitzo has a lifetime warranty, I sent it back to them and they replaced the entire third leg assembly and returned it completely refurbished. Sold new for mucho-dinero and I got it for $50 plus a little freight.
But, in the issue of camera batteries, I read in Shutterbug where both Nikon and Canon, in their newer models, are rejecting batteries not branded. There have been several posts on UHH recently confirming the rejection of "Off Brand" batteries by some of the newer models of camera. Also, recently here in UHH, there have been instances where folks have posted that "Off Branded" batters have gotten hot and melted, etc. etc.
Like I said earlier, if you pay the big $$$$ for a C or N (or whatever brand) body, why screw with a battery that may or may not function as hoped when the cost is less than $100. And, if what we read is true, most brand names are going to institute battery recognition software where the "off brand' batteries will be simply rejected.

I also understand from some posts on this forum that Canon and Nikon (and probably others) have enabled their newer model cameras to detect and refuse "off-brand" batteries. Again, why piddle over something as inexpensive (relatively speaking) to the photographic process as a battery?
Good Shooting
Stick with your brand name batteries. There are many posts on this forum from shooters who have had "internal damage" done to components within the camera while using "off-brand" batteries. With a $$$camera why use inferior batteries for a savings of what??? - maybe 10 or 15 dollars??
