I went with the Sigma f/2.8 non IS version. It made my wallet happy, but, it made my pictures sad. I probably would make the same decision again.
Wishing I could afford the nikon IS version.

I arrived at 5:15 am this morning to a photo workshop in Avon NJ. I wanted to get there early so I could catch the sunrise. In case anyone is wondering, the sun did not rise in NJ this morning. Everything was fogged in.

My 5 favorite pictures.

I have this lens along with the Tokina 11-16 and a Nikon D7000. They are always tricky to put on as there isn't a small white dot to guide you like on a Nikon lens. That said, one they are on both Tokina's are awesome for the money.

Hi WC, I was particularly struck by your second image of a very nice set. The composition, simplicity, lines and subtle colors make this a pleasing vision to the eyes. I thinks it's a winner.

Thanks, htat is my favorite also. Interestingly, it was the last pisture of the day as I was walking back to the car.

You've got some nice photos there. In a way it's too bad you had a rainy day or else maybe you could've got some nice sunset photos even with the beach there.[/quote]

Thanks for the kind words, The beach faces East, so I guess they would have been sunrise pics. Of course at sunrise, it was snowing like crazy. I thought the workshop was going to be cancelled.

WOW! That is the nicest thing anyone has ever said about my photos. Photography is just a hobby to help releave job stress. So, I take photos only to please myself. But, it sure is nice to hear words as kind as these. Thanks again
