If you want a 50mm lens that will give you an angle of view of a 75 mm lens on Your D500 that’s cool.
My wife uses a 35mm f1.8 dx lens on her D7200 to approximate a 50mm full frame combo. It’s a great little Nikkor lens and lightweight too.

If you decide to go a real good place to go is Desierto de los Leones Monastery
It is high in the mountains surrounding Mexico City. Not to far from Cuajimalpa
My daughter lived there from 2016 to 2018.

That is a VA panel like the one I’m considering. Even though yours has been updated with a new model I found one like you have for $349. I has a better color gamut than the Dell has too. Thanks for sharing your info with me

After much Q&A on the Hog, I purchased the 32" BenQ EW3270U Monitor 3 years ago.
I have been extremely happy with my choice.
I believe their PD series has superseded it. Check them out.

If you look at the best rated pro displays they are all IPS, so that would be my recommendation.
IPS has the best color accuracy. If you are one a budget you can save money by buying a better display in a smaller size. I realize that you would like a 32", but consider why you are buying it.... to edit colors of photographs.
You want 10 bit color, and if you want your screen to match your prints, a super bright display is not helpful.
Ideally you want hardware calibration. For editing pictures you would be better off with a great 24" vs a mediocre 32". Most displays are geared toward gaming, which have different requirements than editing pictures.
Thats my best advice

There is some basic information here. A brief perusal makes me think worrying about which type is like splitting hairs.

It’s ok to go there but someone would need to educate me on why a lower resolution monitor beats a 4K monitor. I’m all ears!

I was thinking the same thing but it might not be prudent to go there. Keven wants a 4K monitor. Whether he needs it doesn’t matter.

I’m not an expert on monitors and resolution which is why I’m soliciting advice 😎. I can only go on my experience. The 4K 13” screen on my Dell XPS13 is by far the best viewing experience I’ve ever had on a laptop it blows away every laptop Ive ever had. This includes 4 year old MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. My assumption is that this would be the same for a 32” monitor. This could be untrue and I just don’t know it. I do know if you compare the pixel density on a 32” screen at different resolutions the 4K will have the highest density. I’m not sure how this will relate to photo processing though.

This is a dumb question but In your use of different resolution monitors all of 32” does your video driver and card support 4K display? Thanks for your help

Unless you are a gamer...you do not actually need 4k for photo editing...there is no alarming difference that will show up...you yourself can't really see the difference in a monitor. Even some gamers will opt out higher res for speed.
Very large TV screens benefit from it...but not monitors.

I have had both 1080...1440 and 4k.

I ended up at 1440...cannot see any difference in my 32" monitors.

This analysis looks like while IPS is better for gaming VA is just as good or better for photo editing. Unless you edit at mind numbing speed? My mind is numb enough, thank you.

I’m in agreement Jack. One thing is that the contrast of the VA screens is way better than IPS as a general rule of thumb. It appears IPS wins on color gamut

No worries Jimmy. I am interested in that too. From what I’ve read the curves monitor is to compensate for viewing angle. I’m not a gamer so most of my viewing will be straight ahead. Still I’m interested in this concept.

Tracy, how do you like the curved monitor?
Are there any distortions with the curved monitor?
I'm really interested in the opinion of folks who actually have curved monitors and lived with them.
I hope that this is just another relevant question added to the original questions as I do not wish to hijack this thread.
Best Wishes,

Kent. The specs on your proposed monitor are nearly identical to Tracy's, except for the screen curve. It is 10 bit color and 99% gamut coverage. Double check the return policy in case you dont like it.

Thanks yes I’ve been looking at that this morning
