We’re going to Alaska in March to see the Northern Lights. I’m thinking of only taking my iPhone 14 Pro Max instead of my Sony RX100vi due to time constraints. We’ll be on a Tour Group. Has anyone taken pictures of this using the 14 Pro Max? If so were the pictures any good? Thanks All!

I took this photo handheld with the I Phone 14 Pro in Norway. The camera automatically switched on night mode and took a long exposure. It required no additional input from me. I had my D850 set up on a tripod but wanted to see if the phone could capture it.

I have a number of friends who have captured great pictures of it recently with just their iPhones.

Can't be a "real" picture because you didn't use a "real" camera. JUST KIDDING! I am trying to head off the debate we know is coming.

It's a shining example of what that phone can do. It can be all you need in many situations. Great shot and thanks for sharing it.

I know the main camera on my 14 Pro Max is 48 megapixels so it should be fine!

Yes, cellphones take excellent aurora shots... and videos, too!

Great image! Very sharp for being handheld. I'm too old n wobbly these days to take long exposures without a tripod.

This is from an iPhone 12 4 weeks ago in Fairbanks. Taken out of the hotel parking lot.
