Now that you mention it, "shock and awe bombing" of Iraq was comparable to Israel's "operation Cast Lead". They both were designed to kill a lot of innocent Muslim civilians, including women and children.

So, yes, the Democrats and Republicans are comparable to the Nazis.

Wow. You are so amazingly stupid.

So you are basing your accusations of me being a bigot on my views about Zionism.

How do you feel about Nazis? Are you bigoted against
Nazis? Zionism and Nazism are both nationalistic political movements.
Zionists are the Nazis of our time.

So are Republicans and Democrats nationalistic political movements. Are you equating them with Nazism?

What an asinine argument you try to foist on everybody.

Not only do not work but apparently have the opposite effect as is desired by those doing the banning.

Again, look at the countries involved. Virtually none of the so-called advanced countries, including those which ban guns.

Speaking out against a political movement is not bigotry no matter how many times you attempt to spin it otherwise. Zionism is a political movement.

Couldn't resist, could you? Everything is a Zionist conspiracy. This is how you discredit yourself, every time. If a tornado wrecked your house, you'd blame it on Zionists.

You really should put clown makeup on, and take a selfie for your avatar.

If insults and character smears serve to discredit members of this forum, you rat packers have been discredited many times more than myself.

Typical BS reply. You obviously didn't understand my previous post.

Thank you for once again discrediting yourself.

You and others who make up the rat pack on this website have proven over and over that you are shills who have been instructed not to debate any issue that is based on corporate media lies. Your employers know that lies cannot be successfully defended in an honest debate. The shill manual directs you to use character assassination instead of debate. The problem with that is, if you continually reply with insults and refuse to answer legitimate questions, readers will recognize that you are a shill.
You and others who make up the rat pack on this w... (show quote)

You have two problems. One is that you have no credibility because you have demonstrated such bigotry and give no credence to any sources except the ones you approve of. The other is that you have indulged in so many insults, people discredit what you say without even bothering to consider whether you have a valid point.

Very nice. I do see a problem with the second picture, either chromatic aberration, for which you could compensate in post-processing, or over-sharpening producing haloes. Possibly both.

Welcome to UHH.

Take a closer look. You won't find any of the advanced social/economic countries in there. Except for the US and Brazil. And Bermuda, interestingly. Look for western European countries, Japan, China, even India. In short, just making this list puts us in bad company.

For almost two years, I have been a loyal "Hogger" Until recently, I spent most of my time on photography related topics. Bit by bit, I strayed into general chit chat. The amount of nastiness and rudeness has really soured me. It should be possible to disagree, on topics like gun control, gay rights, politics, and religion without excessive name calling or threats. Any suggestion before I "weigh anchor" and head for calmer seas and fairer winds?

I completely understand your position. I've been thinking along similar lines. There are quite a few people with whom I disagree vigorously, whether it comes to politics, religion, gun control, or whatever. But I think I could sit down to dinner with most of them and find mutual enjoyment. There is a handful of people who are totally abusive and who violate every rule of civility, not to mention the posted rules on this site. I'm cynical enough to think that the reason these individuals haven't been kicked out is that the increased traffic numbers translate into revenue.

I'll be interested to see what alternative sites, if any, get mentioned here.

While that can be one way to look at it, it can also be an image saver if an uncluttered background is not obtainable, or if one wishes to isolate the subjects details...Oh, I never put any background material behind a subject, but I will use a flash & a small aperture to achieve the same effect. The added benefit is to stop any motion & increase the DOF...

Of course, it's a matter of taste.

I like his approach of retaining the natural background and moving around to get the best combination of color and background. To me, putting a black background behind a flower seems too artificial.

Also, check the file sizes. Some programs create a thumbnail version of a photo to give you a quick display (iPhoto does this), and puts it in a different folder with the same name. Two versions of the same image can have vastly different file sizes - 16 MB for the original, and 55 K for the thumbnail. Guess which one you want to keep?

You're right about the reversal of LNG priorities. Most of the natural gas being produced by fracking in the U.S. will be sent overseas where the profits are greater. Americans are trading our valuable freshwater to send our natural gas resources overseas. Did you know that each fracking well uses an average of 5 million gallons of freshwater which is polluted with toxic chemicals and is gone from human use forever? The gas sent overseas will reduce the supply in the U.S. and cause gas prices here to rise. Who is profiting from all this? The international oil and gas corporations who swear allegiance to no country.

As soon as the fracking industry empties our aquifers, where will we get the water to drink and grow our food?

Wow! We agree on something.
