I’ve received several ads for the new Nikon f2.8 28mm prime in Z mount and full frame. The price is a tempting $296 and though it’s not available yet (preorders only through B&H or Adorama) I wondered if anyone has heard any advance word on it. The kit lens for my Z6 covers the focal length but not at f/2.8 and not prime. Also, it’s listed as an SE lens and I’m not sure of that designation.

I’m in need of a replacement for my Canon all in one printer and I have the ads for Epson Ecotank 2750. It’s on sale. Anyone have any experience with it? Does it come fully loaded with ink? What do the replacement tanks cost? Any help would be appreciated.

Local processing PROBABLY means no negative return. Bizarre as this sounds it’s what the drugstores are doing these days— and lo res scans too.

You're right, drmike99 there is a very tight window now.. I've already sent contacts to the darkroom and a few other places to find out the turn around. CA is going to be a long shot cause it's very far away. trying to locate something in PA,VA, MD etc.

Once thedarkroom.com finishes the processing they upload the digital file so you don’t have to wait for the return mail. Does this contest allow you to print from a digital file?

@captivecookie you're going to have to wait even longer. here's what Happen today. We took the disposable kids camera to walgreens, cvs, rite aid, walmart etc and all of these retailers said it's going to take 3 weeks to develop!! What the hell, this challenge is turning into a "real' difficult challenge, first taking 6 attempts just to find the camera now none of the local retailers can get the film developed before the challenge ends. My last hope, locate a film developing severs online with a fast turn around.

Try thedarkroom.com in California. They are overkill for this camera but I suspect you’ll meet your deadline. Can’t guarantee though. It’s a tight window.

To those who are not accustomed to film photography in this day, be aware that the drugstore and department store processors no longer return negatives. They only return prints and low resolution scans on CD; you have to use one of the larger custom labs to get good scans and negatives back.

…the CP lens would not come off. It would not unscrew, it just revolved as if there were no threads. Then I found it would not tighten up either, not in the least…Now it will neither come off nor seat. If anyone has had a similar experience and solved the problem I would appreciate hearing from you.

This sounds like the normal free rotation of a properly functioning CP lens.

Side note: I have yet to see a movie that rivaled the book it was adapted from.

Field of Dreams. Book was Shoeless Joe and not nearly as good.

Hello,

Does anyone have any experience with the apps on an iPhone 10xr? I want it mainly to read color temperature. Which app do you recommend or use? I there a good review that you can link me to?

I have had good results with POCKET LIGHT METER. It meets your requirements, is free, accurate and in the Apple App Store.

Nikon has as of today 4 mirrorless cameras on the market with more to come, 6 if you count the Nikon 1.

More than that. Z6 Z7 Z6-II Z7-II Z5 and Z50. (Z6 & Z7 still being sold new on sale at all certified Nikon dealers— I just bought a new Z6 with kit lens at Hunt Photo). PLUS the Nikon 1 if you want to count it.

I have a collection of Nikon DX lenses for my D7100 but also a handful of FX lenses for it and for my F6 which is a truly great film SLR. I recently bought a Z6 with the f/4 24/70mm Z mount zoom when they were on sale. Nikon discounted the ZTF adapter from $249 to a very reasonable $99 if bought with the Z6. The zoom is an excellent lens especially for a “kit” lens. So far I’ve tried my F mount 85mm f/1.8 with excellent results and easy operation. I’d say to the OP that any of your modern Nikkors should be fine. I haven’t tried any of my “non-cpu”
(AKA Ai) lenses with it.

So, you're saying when Nikon emerges from bankruptcy and has sold-off several of their patents and entire divisions, they'll still be making a small number of cameras for the hipsters in Brooklyn?

I think you’ll find a hell of a lot of hoggers using film, either alone or along with digital, and who are not from Brooklyn — nor are they “hipsters.”
