Thanks, but I owe it all to my model.
A borrowed lens on a rented camera. A Common Yellowthroat who wanted to make an offering to me (mating ritual?).
I was curious about how members of different websites reacted to my posted pictures. So I posted the exact same photo to UHH, Flickr, and 500px. I did this for five different pictures (a different one each day for five days). I looked at each website tonight for the number of views each picture had and the number of comments left for each. I took the average for each site for the five pictures. Here are the results:
#Views...#Comments...Website
806..............12............UHH
46.................1.4..........Flickr
88.................0.6..........500px
I was impressed. Not only do you get far more people looking at your photos on UHH, they take the time to make comments. And for free! Thanks UHH for providing a great service and to all the Hoggers for taking the time to look at the pictures posted and writing some encouragement to the poster.
A calm little lake in Amberjack Park, Rotonda, FL. Many different species of waterfowl intermingled.

Great image with reflection. My 2 cents if it were my image I would crop it as a vertical to give it greater IMPACT!
So I tried the vertical crop. What do you think?

Excellent shot.
Thanks. I got a lot of good ones from this same little lake. Birds came near the little dock readily.

Thanks for the suggestion. Usually I don't like vertical pics much (I just don't see them as well) but I'll give it a try!

Great shot. I love the Spoonbills.
I agree - perhaps the most beautiful bird in Florida.
