That is correct, Jerry.

Response to tcthome.
Interesting how you think. There has been plenty of logical and careful analysis of the the balloon. Instead of accepting them, or alternately believing that the public is not being given the whole story, whether because all the facts are not known or are felt to be necessary to be kept secret, you have chosen to introduce unverifiable conspiracy theories.
If this winds up in The Attic, it is because of your posting.

The public does not need to know everything; but there are far too many cover-ups and classified documents that either the government or “special interests” feel necessary to keep away from the disinfection of exposure.

Oh, it’s yours all right. In my opinion, the less of yourself that you put into it, the less it is art . . . That includes thinking about it.

The OP in this thread was referring to a previous thread in which she asked her question, as well as clearly explained what she was trying to accomplish. Here's the link for your reference:

I thank you for siting the original question; and it was answered if the only outcome was to transfer and duplicate the size (in Mb) of a photo file. However, the post goes on to ask about eventual print quality which has to factor in dimensions desired and PPI needed. Without understanding those concepts and something as basic if there is any difference between jpeg and JPEG, knowledge and results will be compromised.

You may be confusing “size” with”quality” with “dimensions” … and I have no idea what you are trying to accomplish. The three are interrelated. A low quality photo with large dimensions can still produce a big file, just as a dimensionally small photo, set to high enough DPI will also produce a big file.

So where does the blame lie? Certainly not with the athletes (or celerities, or actors, or CEOs) who are able, in our free market economy, to translate unique talents or attributes into phenomenal financial awards often accompanied by societal respect. Maybe it is those of us who haven’t found a better way to divvy up the rewards of Capitalism.
I do not think anyone would endorse a government enforced pay scale…too much like Communism. So we rationalize by saying that salary is always secondary to satisfaction, and that respect respect for a job well done can substitute for the risks involved.
To further muddy the issues involved luck plays and enormous role. How many of us carefully choose a job only to find out later that it is no longer needed.

Yep, their self stated “moral” says it all.

I understand. I see so many great piano players online, but I doubt any of them make as much as a basketball player.

The lucky ones wind up teaching the next generation at a Conservatory. At least there is job security and opportunity to do what they love and staying true to their talent.
I am always saddened when a gimmick or theatricality triumphs over training and technique.

One word: prodigy.
BUT it takes more than talent and hard work to become a concert pianist.
George Harliono did not make it past the audition round for the 2022 Van Cliburn Competition, and doing well in these things is essential to having a career.
He is young, and he may yet succeed beyond YouTube.
It is not enough to be able to play the notes. Judges look for passion, interpretation, personality, and diversity. And yes, politics enters into the judging.
Having been at the periphery of this world, I hate competitions because they are largerly subjective. The bottom line is that there is more ability than there are opportunities.

Ysarex, when logic and civility fails, or never existed, some members of Ugly Hedgehog resort to insult. That’s why this message is in the “Attic”, where discourse is sent to die. I’ve given up trying to educate or debate with the troglodytes and cretins. It wastes too much time.

[quote=selmslie]Why do you suppose . . .

A supposition is not a valid scientific conclusion, nor is suggesting that evidence must lead to an obvious conclusion when it leads to no conclusion.
Too many people want their explanations to be black or white with no nuance. It is best to accept the fact that we “just don’t know” and continue searching for a t***h.

From the John Hopkins School of Public Health:

There were also other indicators: There were two lineages—or two separate variants—of SARS-CoV-2 that were circulating in the early days of the p******c. One of those became the p******c [as we know it] and the other one died out.

But [the existence of two lineages] would mean that there would have to have been two introductions from a laboratory, versus an outbreak going on among animals and then spilling over multiple times to people.

Jerry, do you still believe that the Republican Senators, who cherry picked the information they liked, are more or even AS reliable, as the people at Hopkins.
Scientists can be wrong; but if they are reputable they do not publish studies based on speculation.

Dripping with sarcasm I add: “Who are we th believe. Scientists or Politicians? Who is more likely to have an agenda here?
Remember when answering these questions was easy?

From Forbes magazine:
So when the office of Senator Richard Burr (R-N.C.) dropped “An Analysis of the Origins of the C****-** P******c Interim Report,” just two weeks before the midterm e******n, you’ve gotta wonder whether this report was more about politics than actually determining what really happened.
