Am spending two weeks in the British Virgin Islands on a sailboat. I don't want to take my "good" Sony camera and lenses as we'll be traveling light and dingying to shore daily. Any suggestions for a point and shoot camera between $100-$300? Thanks in advance!
I have a Fuji XP 120 which I use at the beach and in water. Does the job. Here is a pic I took with it. When I purchased it I was debating buying the Olympus Tough 5 but settled on the Fuji because of price. Around $150 vs 400. Did not think the IQ was going to be that much better for the money. Had a Nikon waterproof camera that leaked after three years which cost a lot more. The Fuji is still going strong after three years and if it craps i'll just buy another one. FWIW

Going from Florida to points in the Carribean.
I plan on taking my 80D, 550EX and DMC-ZS100 (from total list below) along with my 18-300, spare batteries, battery charger, monopod, and USB charger for the Lumix and cell phone. These will go as carry-on for the airplane trips to/from Florida.
A waterproof camera can come in handy. I always take my Fuji for when in or near water.
Have a great trip.

Next July, my wife and I are doing a "Land/Sea" vacation (Princess Cruises) in Alaska. We'll spend 5 days in the Denali National Park area followed by 7 days of cruising, stopping in Anchorage, Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan and Vancouver.
At each port, there are a myriad of available side excursions ranging from guided town tours to whale watching boats to bush plane landings on glaciers. I'm sure I'm not the first Hogger to go on one of these trips so I'm asking for your advice: What might be some good photography opportunities? Photo equipment concerns? Are these canned excursions worth the cost or should we strike out on our own? Is the Botanical Garden in Vancouver a good choice (we're spending an extra day there)?
Our only limitation, is that my wife has a bad foot so hikes over a mile or two are difficult for her.

Did Alaska via Princess Land and Cruise in May/June 2016. Great Trip. Photos were taken from the White Pass and Yukon train ride from Skagway into the Yukon. Very Scenic. Just one suggestion. The Princess included excursions were also very good. Hopefully you will get to see Denali.
Raymond Kills Falls in the Poconos, Pa. Taken the other day while hiking.

I noticed Nikon is advertising a refurbished Nikon Z7 Mirrorless for $2,199; a $1,200 savings. How is that possible? Their newest and greatest already with problems? In order to published this price there must be many in this condition in stock...
I just checked Nikon's website. No Z7 refurbished listed. Be cautious!!!

The middle section on one of the legs of my Benro carbon fibre tripod has come out completely when you pull that tube to extend it instead of being “locked” when it’s in the maximum out position. There’s a couple of curved white coloured plastic pieces that have also come out of the hollow cylinder. Anyone had that problem and suggestions to fix? Very surprised at this build quality since I thought Benro was super solid. This is only the third time I’ve used the tripod.
I have a Mefoto tripod which was missing a plastic piece from one of the legs. I called customer service at Mefoto and they send it to me no charge. I believe Benro is constructed the same way and is manufactured by the same company. Google Benro.
