The original shot is beautiful, but in most case's I've found is just too dark for the normal painting. I lightened up the whole photo as to make the contrast pop and the painting to have a warmer feel. I am very pleased with the outcome on this one. If any of you are interested in getting in on my art email list, I show all the process of how I made the painting along with the finished piece. It's become quite popular and I have a base that literally goes around the globe. Just email me at jessandcheryl@hotmail.com if you are interested.

You guys are all so kind. I really appreciate the nice things you have said. The only good thing that covid (grrrr) did for me was to keep me locked away in my studio a lot. I was spending close to 70 hours a week out there. Why not? It's been my passion for 63 years, and we just didn't go out! I'm married to the Covid Nazi, so she has kept us pretty safe and vaccinated. Thank you again. If any of you would like to be on my art email list, just contact me on my email. I send each new painting out on that email (all over the world) and it also shows my whole process of how I made the painting. Would be happy to include you. jessandcheryl@hotmail.com

Thank you so much, Thomas, that is very kind of you. I taught for soooo many years and loved it all, especially working with inmates in State and Federal Prisons. Got some fantastic art out of those guys and changed some lives drastically! I am still in contact with many who got out and lead good lives today. If you would like to be on my art email list, get a hold of me on my email. I send this out to a large following, showing all my steps in making the painting. I get requests from all over the world for it. jessandcheryl@hotmail.com Thank you again for taking the time to respond. JESS

I live on the Oregon coast, and taught seascape painting for soooo many years. We have such a beautiful coastline and I've shot lots of photos of it. An ever-changing lady, she is. You don't hardly ever shoot a photo that is just the way you want it, but it happens on occasion. That one from NZ was just perfect to me. Your area is really beautiful, too. Been down along that coast around Carmel a bunch of time and found it just beautiful. I changed my direction into wildlife art a few years ago and have found a big circle of followers. Last year was the biggest year of my art life. The one thing Covid (grrrrr) did was cause me to stay in my studio more! If you would like to be on my art email list, contact me on my email and I'll show you what that gives you. For those folks I show step shots of how each painting was made. jessandcheryl@hotmail.com

I am looking for the person who shot this old car down in Brodie. I am an artist and many of the photographers here on UHH have shared their photo to me to use for reference material. I always love to give credit to the photographer when I can. Can you contact me on this? I think this is an awesome old car and the painting will be just killer. Thank you! I was a strong guy back in the CB Radio days, so handles can come easy! Haha! I have a lot of wonderful photographers giving me access to their whole catalogs right now, so I haven't been out shooting like I did before this damn pandemic stuff started. I love wildlife more than most people these days. Seems to be no integrity anymore. So sad. My email is jessandcheryl@hotmail.com let's stay in touch there. My phone is 971-241-6239. Good to make a connection with you. JESS

I live in Sheridan, not far from you. Used to see lots of these guys on the Siletz River while we were salmon fishing. It's so fun to watch them play as a group. We would stop fishing just to watch. If you ever need a camera buddy on a trip, give me a call. I am a painter and my website is www.jessanderson.com. I like to go out and take photos for my reference. These were beautiful shots, by the way!

You know, with me there always seems to be a sense of sadness when I walk thru places like this. I never pass up doing that either. I sit inside and just wonder at what went on in this home when it was the family palace. Don't you just wish that the walls would talk to you and give you some insight on what went on. I'm an artist, and my imagination runs wild, anyway. I have been in places where the hair on the back of my neck stood up, and it made me wonder even more. Thank you for this collection. Very well done.

Well, my hat is off to the guy who built that stair case. Mercy! What a fine job. Having built many a deck, I do know what goes into a job like that. Kudos!

Man, those are amazing shots! I've driven the road to Alaska several times and seen some of the most beautiful of all in Whitehorse, Yukon, and again many times in Anchorage. They are like watching magic happening in the sky. Love these. I'm a painter and have sworn that one day I will try my attempt at capturing them. Beautiful!

From an artist standpoint these are just fantastic! I have always been a sucker for a well done still life, and to get that you have to have good reference material! Wonderfully done!

I was visiting an old army buddy in Virginia who is also a detectorist. We spent a week going thru fields that the war was fought on. Found a bunch of stuff. In one area along a river I found a handmade hoe, a pick and five ax blades that went to the museum. They told me later that they had them dated somewhere between the civil war and the Revolutionary was. Found a lot of bullets and some old coins. I found a large penny dated 1804 in a churchyard that George Washington had once held meetings in. I do love to detect. Most of the stuff is just common stuff anymore, but its still fun to do.

Its wonderful that they have been able to keep this old town as it should be. I just love old ghost towns. I have used a metal detector in quite a few. I never mind giving things to the local museums when I find them either. Its just part of the history, and I really love history!
