There are steps that one can take to prevent this. They have to eat too.

Besides getting out the Varmint eliminators, for rabbits I prefer 2"x2" mesh critter fence with an added wrap of chicken wire.

Cute... until they start devouring your garden.

Summer heat and torrential downpours have pretty much taken the toll of the perennials, so if they chose to feast it's just that much less to cleanout before putting the pots away for the winter.

In what we think is an unusual situation, Momma rabbit decided to create her warren in one of the wife's flower pots. All photos are SOC. First photo is Mom chowing down on Wife's plants, the second through fifth are the little ones huddled in their temporary home. Weather or possibly one of their siblings leaving, opened up the warren to allow the photos without disturbing them. This one of my first posts from photos taken with one of my cameras, so be kind. Thank you.

I have to use reader type glasses to see the camera data prior to taking a photo. Question is do those UHH members that wear readers remove them when focusing the camera or leave them on? I have been removing mine prior to focusing.

Thanks,

Keith

I wear Bifocals and usually just push my glasses up and rely on the diopter adjustment on my view finder. Though the way my eyes are going I may need to go with an optional stronger one in the future.

Really like the way you captured the statue and clock tower, a well done night scene.

I have a Canon 80D w/18-135 lens. I am planning a trip to Grand Canyon and would appreciate your input on a tripod. I saw a Targus $39 aluminum. I have read that I would be foolish to buy an inexpensive tripod and if possible go for carbon fiber. Now the price jumped. The reviews were very confusing same product go from one star to 4 star on same product. I saw a Manfroto Elements for $149 and Manfroto 290 for $179. Further search took me to the $300 - $999 range. I am six feet tall and will be purchasing my first tripod, so any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks Jim

I'm going to throw something out there, which many here might disagree with. Zomei tripods, available from Amazon. First came a cross them in a camera store in Washington outside Seattle. Was told at the time they were made on the same production line as more expensive familiar brand name Tripods, to be honest I took that with a grain of salt. However they do appear to be identical to other well known more expensive Brands and have served me well on my two Nikon DSLR camera I own. You will got many opinions here, all of them good and honest, I'd, just say take a look and compare, it won't hurt.

I am a construction guy. Clip style work lights have served me well in a pinch. Just clip to a chair or door etc. In this age I would use a 60W equivalent LED in soft white lamp. If you you incandescent set the white balance for that.

I would agree with Dave, also you can drape a sheer piece of fabric over the lamp to further soften it.

I'm flying to take a cruise. I'm recovering from lower back surgery and my mobility is pretty good without a walker, but its the standing in line that causes me problems. So I need to take a walker or better yet, a rollader (a walker with wheels and seat) to use in those cases. My concern is with getting the equipment on and off the airplane and ship. I do have cruise transfer coverage, so they probably will take care of getting the equipment and baggage to the ship. Its the airplane part that has me the most concern. How can I handle that? I'd like to have it to use while queuing up through security, so I guess they could check it after I board. Anyone have any experience with this situation?
Appreciate your help.

When my wife was awaiting hip surgery and walking with a cane she was offered a wheelchair and assistance from drop off to boarding here at JFK international and the same at destination airports, including Seattle/Tacoma and Buffalo International while flying JetBlue. I'd suggest checking with your airline as to what is available. PS it also usually got us through security and customs quicker.

Only 3+ hours, really? My 64GB card holds 8 hours and 45 minutes of MPEG (MP4) quality video, which looks very good on a 40-inch television. Also, MPEG is probably the format you want if you are posting on the internet.

That was from my memory and a quick look at a chart, the videos will not be posted to the internet and most likely only viewed on a computer monitor.

Thanks all for the input. Went with a Canon VIXIA RF800 that came with a battery, AC adapter-charger, and additional USB cables. Added 2 64GB cards, case and a tripod as part of a Best Buy bundle. According to the specs by varying the recording quality, a 64GB card will hold a 3 hour plus video.

I can argue the the church has a sign up that says "everyone is welcome to attend." I think that makes it public. That minister looks like a man who can take care of himself. It is a hyper charged environment. One of the ministers had a particularly pretty wife and I was tempted to take her photo but was worried that someone might take offense. The church likes my photos and keeps asking me to take photos at various events, but I worry a bit about the legal ramifications.

If the church is requesting that you take photos at their events then you may be in the clear. However posting then generally online in any forum other then the churches own could have ramifications. One question, does the church inform attendees, that they may be photographed?

I found a great free program that lets me design flow charts. It's called Diagram Designer, and it's not difficult to use, but it does take some learning. If you use it, you should follow the rules of diagram design, in terms of the shapes of the boxes. I made one to help me decide where to put things if I ever decide to get off the computer and straighten up the house. For donations, I've substituted Salvation Army for Good Will. Good Will is a business that accepts items from people and sells them for a profit. The Salvation Army actually helps people in need.

It occurs to me that your chart needs to be spread out somewhat more to record where on it an item had gone. Actually both do sell items back to the public, it is just in how they spend the proceeds.

Okay this is a little out side of what is normally discussed here. Hopefully we have some members who shoot video with a camcorder that would care to comment.
Wife needs a camcorder for work ASAP. Needs the capacity to shoot 3+ hour video in a classroom setting, will assume that with a large enough card that would not be a problem, under fluorescent lighting. Need to keep the expenditure down, say under $500 for the camcorder and essentials total, sufficient capacity card, spare battery, tripod, etc., while not skimping on reliability or reasonable quality. Looking at Sony and Cannon, any thoughts, thanks gals and guys.

Just WOW, don't think one would see anything like that here in the States. At least I've not heard of anything like those youngsters.
