Thank you. Believe me, I have been trying for some time get a few decent shots. Talk about "Type A", geez.

Wonderful shots. It's so nice to see them getting nectar from flowers instead of feeders.

Thanks for the compliment. We tried feeders but we didn't get many visitors. The little darlings definitely prefer the natural stuff.

Thank you kindly. Sometimes it seems that everything falls into place when you're ready with your camera.

Nice shot Gboy. I really like the first shot. You stopped the wing action perfectly. Seems like I can never get a perfectly clear shot of the wings when they are flying even at higher shutter speed.

Thank you, these were taken at 1/2000 sec., but it's possible that the angle may have helped some, too.

Just for curiosity's sake...how many shots did you make to get these??? How many times did the bird just fly right out of the frame??

Since our hummingbird bushes were abuzz with honey bees, bumble bees, butterflies and hummingbirds , I took a bunch of photos trying to catch all these "in flight" (probably, close to 300 over the course of two days). I was most successful with the HB's the second day after they got used to my presence and were a little bolder, and I picked up on some of their patterns. Even so, I have to admit, I deleted more than a few "out of focus" or "out of frame".

How did you get it to sit still ???
Wonderful work!!

Thank you. That particular HB was quite territorial, so it would perch itself in small branches around the perimeter of our two hummingbird bushes to keep a watchful eye for interlopers.
