Just purchased from Adorama Sony a6000 for $478 ($70 off) and 55-210 lens for $198 ($150 off). Great bundle. ( with free filter kit and free shipping.)

And what would you ask for it? One dollar? Probably not even worth that, so why posting something like that? I can see posting something, were you can actually get a little something for, so make it worth your while, but this....................

FYI, sold camera this week on eBay for $120. Sold zoom lens for $50. And I was totally honest about non-working and water damage. Your apology is accepted.

Outside of B&H you really-really need to ask questions; be aware & cross your fingers ------ However --- I did all that and -----
I recently purchased a Canon 5DS (with full US warranty) for 3k @ Abes Of Maine ----- Just checked them out as regards your Panasonic fz1000 --- Don't know how good of a price this is ---- They list it @ $718.00 --- Good luck & remember about those crossed fingers

Thanks.

Could you share any experience with 42nd St photo in NY? They seem to be the only one who has the Panasonic fz1000 in stock.

I'm about to purchase an $800 camera. Any opinions as to buying extended warranty? They're under $100 for drop and spill protection, but reviews on these are scary. Are any companies better than others. I didn't have one on my Sony a6000 when it took a swim and regret it. Thanks in advance.

Yes, I looked at this comparison. One error is that the 1000 does not have touchscreen, but smartphone can be used as touchscreen. It seems the main differences between the two panasonics (aside from price) are the 400 vs 480 zoom, the touchscreen, and a big improvement in video. The 2500 has a few cool features (such as extend the background and not the subject) but nothing that is a necessity for me. So far, I'm heading in the 1000 direction.

BTW, I have only been on this site for a couple months and I am amazed at how much learning I get from it. And a big thank you to all who are taking the time to respond.

Panasonic 2500 coming in December as I recall. Around $1200. Can't remember zoom. Nikon b700 coming out soon $500, 60x zoom

Wow! The 2500 looks awesome! A little expensive. It might cause the fz1000 to drop in price.

Any recommendations for a high zoom bridge camera with at least 1" sensor? The Panasonic FZ1000 seems like the best for the money. The Sony rx10 zoom is not long enough. Anyone hear of any new larger sensor ones in the pipeline?

My 6000 died in the Baltimore flood. Saved the SD card images and sold the 55-210 (which wasn't flooded). Rice bag and time have yielded no salvation. Gave the rest away. Sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss too. Hope you didn't lose much more.

I would find a prominent spot in the house, display it with some other smaller gear, have a great story and memory. I think cameras make great decorator items when done right. Sorry about your gear, I guess you were to get something different!

I'm not a pro. Just a recent retiree trying to learn the basics beyond point and shoot. Joining this site has upped the learning curve. My thanks for all of the expertise here.
The a6000 was my first love in photography. Sometimes we get careless with things or people we love. Lesson learned. Saving up for another Sony. Some loves can be replaced.
Attached is the last picture I took before the camera met its demise.

I listed it as is/non working/water damaged. That should cover it. My conscience is clear. It's my intelligence that is compromised.

If you are taking a camera with you while Kayaking, may I suggest you buy a water proof housing with a floatation devise somehow attached to it so it will float if it falls in the water for the future. Kayaking with a camera, is kinda like a hard drive; it's not will it get wet, but when it will get wet.
