Yep,Vern Denman, humor is good for what ails us!!  so is Aloe Vera

dpullum== Interesting web site. I hate to say this but I am one who has $5000.00 worth of camera stuff --Canon XTI, 70D etc..In fact, I'm thinking about V&D ( instead of B&H) videophoto and unload some of this stuff. Maybe go in with MTshooter. Come to think about it, Using VD might not go over to well since that refers to a --well you know what. Again thanks for the web site.

lol...love your humerous captions vern...great shots!

Thanks, There are some who say that my humor sometimes gets in my way. Ask the Wife. 68 years of humor. I would like to add that Aloe Vera is a skin product enhancement. Also taken internaly for better digestive functions. Now if thats true, this bird will live to be 100 and have the smoothest feathers of all the Orioles. Just saying.

Love the Oriole with beak stuck in the Aloe Vera bloom. All nice shots. We don't get any of the Orioles here, at least I've never seen one. Where was this one taken?

Camera nut== This Oriole was taken at Heritage Village, a retirement community in McAllen Texas. 10 miles from Mexico. I understand that this Oriole breeds as far away as Canada and all along the east coast and middle USA and spends the winter in the tropics. I consider South Texas tropics. We lose them come spring except a few who linger, especially if they have food and water. With that, why not.

You will love this camera and with the zoom, catch all kinds of birds!!! I'm not sure, but this looks like a gold finch to me, not an oriole, or at least not the orioles we have over here. Again, beautiful captures and have fun with your sx50!!!

angela, I belive it is a Orchard Oriole. Also looks similar to the Baltimore Oriole.

Fantastic shots with an awesome camera!! I own one and love it.... it's the small camera that can do everything!!

Thanks so much angela. We don't see these birds here but for a few months and then they are headed back your way or some where. The plant is an Aloe Vera, a big cash crop here in the Rio Grande Valley and it will be blooming again in May--maybe April.
